Mann so close to another perfect game

FIFTEEN months after becoming the first Plymouth player to hit the perfect nine-dart game, John Mann came so close to repeating the feat, but in the end had to settle for a win in 10.

Playing for Porters A in the Monday Premier League, Mann hit eight perfect darts before wiring double 12.

TOP MAN(N): John Mann came very close to achieving another perfect game but had to settle for a win in 10.

A tongue-in-cheek moment followed when his opponent, John Cook, then stepped up to the oche needing more than 200 and coolly planted his first dart into double 12, showing Mann exactly where the target was.

The Cornwall County marksman didn't need showing twice and hit the target with the first dart of his next visit to rapturous applause.

The feat came after Mann had gone 2-0 up in 15 and 17, so finishing with a three-dart average of 35.78 . . . awesome darts.
