John is top Man(n) again with inspiring show

PLYMOUTH marksman John Mann achieved a man-of-the-match performance whilst inspiring Cornwall to victory in the British Inter County Championships.

In the final fixture of 2017, Cornwall defeated Nottinghamshire 24-12, ensuring that they finish the year top of division one, eight points clear of their nearest rivals.

John Mann produced checkouts of 136, 144 and 141 inspiring Cornwall to a BICC victory.

In the Men’s A encounter, Mann took the first three legs of his singles in 12, 18 and 15 which he finished with checkouts of 136, 144 and 141 respectively, for a three-dart average of 100.20.

But all credit to his opponent.

Nottinghamshire’s Peter McConville (28.05) replied by taking three on the bounce himself in 17, 13 and 17, but John Mann had the final word and secured the seventh and deciding leg in 19 to finish with a single dart average of 29.67.
