Status quo at top of table after leading quartet win

THERE is little change at the top of the Monday Premier League table after the leading four sides all achieved comfortable victories, albeit in single figures.

League leaders Maritime A triumphed 7-4 away at Indian Inn B but it was Teresa Brookshaw for the hosts who caught the eye, when she took her singles in three straight legs which started with a win in 14.

Second placed Porters A returned from City Social with an 8-3 victory while Indian A, in third, achieved the same winning scoreline from their visit to Maritime B.

Simon Washington for the hosts, however, won the plaudits when he top-scored with 15 throws of a ton more, 10 of which came in a 3-0 singles success.

Shakespeare came from behind and won the last three points to prevail by the narrowest of margins over Porters B while in another close encounter Steam Packet B edged out Brookside A 6-5.

SEASON'S BEST: Darren Collis recorded the week’s highest checkout when finishing at the first time of asking from 160, equalling the best mark for the season.

Quinton Taylor won for the hosts, hitting a 15-darter in a 3-2 singles victory, while Brookside’s Gary Phillips secured a 3-0 singles success, aided by a leg in 14.

Team mate Darren Collis was also on target and recorded the week’s highest checkout when finishing at the first time of asking from 160, equalling the best mark for the season.

Firkin Scholar secured an 8-3 success away at Prince Maurice B, aided by two stand-out performances.

Mark Hatherley emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by two legs in 17 while Brian Lumsden also won without loss, aided by a 15-dart leg, which he finished at the first time of asking from 156.

Octagon Social Club won 8-3 away at Ford Hotel while Prince Maurice A and Brookside B were both 7-4 winners against Bluebird and Steam Packet A respectively.
