IT was definitely a “Good Friday” for Dartsworld, as they moved to within 20 points of the Plymouth City Super League leaders with two games still in hand, after an emphatic 10-1 victory against a very good Maritime B side.
Keelan Kay and Mark Turner clinched their doubles in 36 (27.81) before the Devonport side excelled in the individual phases.
Simon Stevenson (30.06) emerged a 3-0 winner in 15, 17 and 18 before Paul Palmer (31.31) won in 12, 21 and 15 equalling the season’s highest checkout with the best possible finish of 170.
The previous week, Maritime B had pushed Porters B the full distance and the league leaders had to pull out all the stops to preserve their unbeaten record but did enough to emerge 6-5 winners.

Ships Tavern were defeated 10-1 on their visit to Dartsworld but had some consolation when Rob Oak’s outshot of 136 was not bettered.
Simon Stevenson was again prominent for the winners and top scored with 14 throws of a ton or more, nine of which came in a 3-0 single’s win which included a leg in 15 which was finished with a kill of 101.
Maritime A returned from Kings Arms A with an 8-3victory, the highlight being a 3-2 single’s win for Shaun Dring in 15, 16 and 17.
Henry Cooper was the only singles victor for the Oreston side, winning a leg in 15 before going on to a 3-1 success.
Porters A came from behind and won the last two singles to prevail 6-5 away at The Fawn while The Albermarle also won by the narrowest of margins away at Hyde Park, as did Octagon Social Club when hosting Plympton Cons A.
Plympton Cons B triumphed 7-4 against Kings Arms B but Reg Matthews (100x14) caught the eye for the visitors with a solid singles victory.
Glenn Austin (100x11) top scored for Clifton A in their 9-2 victory away at St Levan Inn while also winning by the same margin were Compton Social Club and The Staddy against Victoria and Ker St Social Club respectively.
