Title contenders march on with wins in double figures

PORTERS B and The Staddy, two of the three title contenders in the Plymouth City Super League, both won in double figures while third placed Dartsworld is also still in contention.

Porters made it 34 wins from as many matches when winning 10-1 away at Compton Social Club and had John Mann (29.47) winning 3-0 in 15, 15 and 21.

The Staddy have a match in hand on the leaders and took all 11 points from their visit to Kings Arms A.

Tony Gordon emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by two legs in 14 while Marc Cresswell also won without loss, his best legs coming in 14 and 17.

TOP CHECKOUT: Steve Hiscox emerged a 3-0 winner in 15, 17 and 21, finishing the 15-darter with the week's highest checkout of 140.

Dartsworld defeated Kings Arms B 8-3 and had Danny Bull (100x13) top scoring while Lewis Dare was also prominent and emerged a 3-0 singles winner, aided by a leg in 15.

Octagon Social Club defeated The Albemarle 8-3, but it was Quinton Taylor (100x14) for the Whitleigh side that earned the plaudits when he won 3-1 in 15, 19 and 19.

Three maximum scores from Kelvin Rowe was the highlight of Plympton Cons A’s 9-2 victory away at The Fawn while Hyde Park Social Club defeated St Levan Inn 8-3.

Clifton A returned from Ker St Social Club with a 7-4 success, but the hosts had Paul Tackle, one of only two home winners, top scoring with 13 throws of a ton or more.

Maritime B earned the bragging rights when they defeated their stablemates Maritime A and in a fixture that produced five maximum scores, Scott Lawrey was on target with two of them.

Plympton Cons B won all the points that were on offer when hosting Porters A, and were buoyed by talisman Steve Hiscox (28.36) who emerged a 3-0 winner in 15,17 and 21, securing the 15-darter with the week’s highest checkout of 140.

Also on target were: Paul Lamerton (128), John Mann (126), Dan Perryman (119), Dave Algar (118), Tony Sansom (114).
