Dartsworld progress halted by league tabletoppers

PORTERS B stretched their unbeaten run to 33 matches in the Plymouth City Super League and at the same time halted the progress of third-placed Dartsworld when they defeated them 8-3.

The table-toppers went into the singles with just a 3-2 lead, but won five out of the six played, three of them in straight legs.

Keelan Kay was the only individual success for Dartsworld and team mates Paul Goundry recorded two maximums and Lewis Dare an outshot of 117.

The Staddy remain in contention for the championship though following a 9-2 victory against The Fawn and were buoyed by a good showing from Marc Cresswell who recorded the week’s highest outshot of 130.

Dave Roberts was prominent for the visitors and in edging out Tony Gordon 3-2, took out a 12-dart leg when finishing at the first time of asking from 118.

Maria O’Brien (100x13) was consistent throughout, but was one of only two individual winners for St Levan as they went down 8-3 away at Ships Tavern.

Kings Arms B secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when hosting Clifton B, while Maritime B won 6-5 at Plympton Cons A and Compton triumphed 7-4 at Porters A.

Plympton Cons B edged out Maritime A 6-5 when at 5-5, Adam Searle defeated Rob May 3-2.

Shaun Dring (100x12) caught the eye when hitting a 14-darter but was one of only two individual winners for the hosts.

Ker St also won by the narrowest of margins away at Hyde Park Social Club and had Paul Lamerton emerging a 3-1 winner, aided by checkouts of 118 and 110.

Octagon Social Club returned from Clifton A with a 9-2 victory and had Lee Hellings emerging a 3-1 winner, aided by a leg in 15 which he finished with a kill of 120.

Kings Arms A made a good recovery away at The Albemarle and rescued the last three singles to edge out their opponents 6-5, which included a 3-2 victory for Mick Spencer, supported by an outshot of 122.
