One more win to clinch title with 40 straight victories

PLYMOUTH City Super League champions, Porters B, will be looking to win their final match of the season so as to finish the season with an unblemished record.

Their penultimate fixture saw them hit 62 scores of a ton or more before going on to win 10-1 against stablemates Porters A with Malcolm Johns (100x17) and John Mann (100x15) as their leading marksmen.

St Levan Inn made a good recovery when hosting The Fawn and secured the last four singles to win by the narrowest of margins, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by The Staddy on their visit to Ships Tavern.

Plympton Cons A won 9-2 away at Victoria and a 3-0 singles victory from Dave Collins ensured that he remains two clear at the top of the individual table.

WEEK'S BEST: Steve Hiscox achieved the highest checkout of the week with a mark of 137.

Lewis Dare was on target with a brace of 180s as Dartsworld secured all but one of the 11 points on offer when hosting Hyde Park Social Club while the A team earned the bragging rights in the Clifton derby match when winning 9-2.

Ker St Social Club returned from Compton SC with a 7-4 success, the same winning scoreline that was achieved by Maritime A on their visit to Kings B.

But it was Tony Sansom for the Oreston side who caught the eye when he top-scored with 11 throws of a ton or more which included two maximums in a 3-2 singles victory over Shaun Dring, whose two winning legs were taken with finishes of 104 and 114.

Maritime A were in a rich vein of form and defeated Kings Arms A by a 10-1 margin.

Scott Lawrey (31.98) emerged a 3-0 winner in 15, 14 and 18 while Dave Matthews was also prominent in the individual phases and won in three straight legs, aided by a leg in 12.

Octagon Social Club and Plympton Cons B both showed good finishing prowess before the former won by the narrowest of margins.

Octagon had Fred Goldsmith emerging a 3-0 winner, aided by outshots of 112 and 130 but he was beaten for the best finish of the week by Steve Hiscox who checked out at the first time of asking from 137 in a 3-0 singles success.

Other notable kills were made by Roger Backway (126), Ian Heggie (117), Alex Brown (112), Jon Easterbrook (108), Sarah Brown (106), Lewis Dare (104), Mike Beard (101).
