Places unaltered as top quartet win in double figures

PLACES remain unaltered at the top of the Plymouth and District Friday League after the leading four teams all won in double figures.

Tabletoppers Kings Tamerton CC and second placed Royal Naval Arms A both secured maximum points against The Office and Dinky Diner B respectively while Brewery Tap, in third, were 12-1 winners away at Queens Dock.

Steam Packet came away from The Fawn with an 11-2 victory while City Social A took all but one of the 13 points on offer when they visited Bull and Bush.

Dinky Diner A won 8-5 away at Pennycross Social Club and had Simon Washington (pictured), Graham Litchfield and Martin Dean winning their treble in 35 (28.60).

The same three players were also prominent in the singles and the only three individual winners for the visitors.

Weston Mill Oak Villa won 9-4 away at City Social B while City Social C defeated Royal Naval Arms B 10-3, one of nine teams this week to win in double figures.

The Windmill restricted Indian Inn B to just a single point and had Mark Shears (27.86) giving a good account of himself when he won his singles in 36, aided by two maximum scores.

Railway Inn edged out Waterloo Inn 7-6, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Porters on their visit to Jolly Miller when they came from behind before Dave Meyrick won the decisive 13th point for victory.

Octagon Social Club emerged 10-3 winners away at Brewery Tap B while The Tradesman won 11-2 at Brookside, inspired by Michael O’Brien who hit the week’s highest checkout of 151.
