Not all the fixtures were lost to the football World Cup

DESPITE the Football World Cup taking preference in some of the darts playing pubs and clubs, five of the nine scheduled fixtures in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League were contested and the unbeaten leaders increased their advantage at the top of the table with an 11-0 whitewash of Compton Social Club.

Porters Patriots won all six singles without dropping a leg and had Andy Bates (100x12) top scoring as well as taking one of his winning legs in 15.

Octagon Social Club defeated Maritime Misfits 7-4, the highlight being a 3-0 singles success for Tony Lamerton (pictured), aided by a checkout of 150.

Fawn B came from behind and won three of the last four singles to edge out Maritime Musketeers 6-5 with Lee Hellings (100x16) as their leading marksman.

Fred Goldsmith also caught the eye and recorded 14 throws of a ton or more which included an outshot of 102.

Kenny McCullom was prominent for the visitors and was on target with two maximums while Kings Arms defeated Fawn A 9-2.

Indian Inn had to settle for a 6-5 win away at Falstaff, despite leading 6-2.
