Hayman earns plaudits with top average in Tap victory

ANTONY Hayman earned the plaudits in the Plymouth and District Friday League when he won his singles in 29 darts, the fourth time this season that the 30-dart barrier has been broken.

His feat came as Brewery Tap A won 10-3 away at Porters and the leg, which gave him a 34.52 average, contained four throws of 140.

Tabletoppers Kings Tamerton CC won 11-2 away at Brewery Tap B while also winning in double figures were City Social A who defeated Indian Inn A 10-3, aided by a checkout of 105 from Shaun Williams.

Indian Inn B led 7-2 away at Bull and Bush but had to be content with a 7-6 victory after the hosts made a good recovery while another win by the narrowest of margins saw Brookside prevail when hosting Waterloo Inn.

Don Hardy threw the week’s top checkout of 115, but he finished up on the wrong end of a 9-4 scoreline when Weston Mill Oak Villa were defeated by The Tradesman.

There were also wins in double figures for both Jolly Miller (10-3) and Dinky Diner A (11-2) against City Social C and City Social B respectively while the A team won the bragging rights in the Royal Navy Arms derby match.

Andy Bates (100x12), Nathan Beeney and Luke Johnson (100x12) won their treble in 35 (28.60) while Andrew Nation clinched his singles game when finishing at the first time of asking from 104.

Matt Thompson (31.28) won in 32 as Steam Packet triumphed 11-2 away at Pennycross SC while Paul Barclay (27.81) caught the eye when securing his individual game in 36, which was the highlight of Octagon’s 10-3 victory at Railway Inn.

The Windmill also won on the road and inflicted on The Fawn a 10-3 defeat, buoyed by a good showing from Steve Marker (29.44), who scored six tons in a 34-dart singles victory.
