Darts website Three In The Bed is one-year-old today

October 10, 2018

THE Plymouth darts website Three In The Bed which was launched on Tuesday October 10, 2017, today celebrates its first anniversary.

The very first post was a feature story on Ralph Lancaster who had just completed 50 years of playing darts on the oche of Plymouth hostelries.

Over the last year, another 17 feature stories have been published along with more than 250 postings on the Plymouth darts scene as well as coverage of Devon in the British Inter County Championships and the Plymouth teams competing in the Devon Super League.

It has also covered the exploits of Simon Stevenson (PDC), Maria O’Brien (BDO), Keelan Kay (BDO & PDC) and Snowy Dyson (BDDA & WDDA) on their various tournaments both at home and around the world.

During these past 12 months, the website has been viewed 48,935 times, last week alone, Three In The Bed was visited on 1,188 occasions.

Of the total visits, 44,208 have been here in the UK with the USA in second place, followed by Spain, Australia and The Netherlands with  three visits coming from China!

The top story “Maria eyes World crown in Lakeside showdown” was viewed 1,225 times followed in second place by “Guinness record still stands for one of Plymouth's finest players . . . 42 years on” with 1,170 visits, and the third most read story was the report of the Plymouth Open which was held in April and viewed on 745 occasions.

I sincerely hope that I can provide you with darts coverage for a long time to come and that you all continue to enjoy the read.

So, a very big thank you to all the dart’s enthusiasts, whose responses and comments have made all the effort worthwhile.

Last but definitely not least, a very big thank you to my eldest grandson Jamie Brandwood who made this all possible.

He was the one who planted the seed with me last summer and then went on to create and build Three In The Bed and now also maintains it, for which I am truly grateful.

So here’s to the next 12 months and thank you.
