Octagon are new tabletoppers after stylish victory

OCTAGON Social Club won in style and took all six singles without dropping a leg in a 10-1 victory over Compton SC, a win which puts them top of the Plymouth City Super League.

Fred Goldsmith caught the eye in his singles victory with a 14-dart leg.

Ker St Social Club secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer at Victory while Ships Tavern defeated Kings Arms 7-4.

Pride was at stake in the Maritime derby match, a fixture that produced 111 scores of a ton or more.

The A team prevailed 7-4 with Neil White (100x15) prominent while Shaun Dring (100x14) was the top marksman for Maritime B.

The Staddy won 9-2 away at Maritime C while The Fawn defeated St Levan Inn 7-4.

Dave Roberts (pictured left) emerged a 3-2 winner for Fawn, aided by two maximums and took out an 11-darter when throwing 140-180-145-36.

Plympton Cons A drop down into second spot but made it seven wins on the bounce when defeating Albemarle 7-4 for whom Lee Dennis emerged a 3-1 winner with his best leg coming in 14.

Cons B defeated Cherry Tree 8-3 while The Tradesman took maximum points away at The Clifton and had Paul Bowen (27.83) emerging a 3-0 winner in 17, 17 and 20.

Porters are joint third after a 9-2 victory away at Bluebird but only four points separate the leading quintet.

The Barbican side had Lewis Dare (100x14) top scoring and also took the highest checkout of the week award when Paul Goundry finished at the first time of asking from 132.
