Mark Henley inspired The Bluebird to a 7-4 success, winning 3-0 with his best legs taken in 14 and 17 while Glenn Halford (100x14) top scored as Prince Maurice A triumphed 9-2 against Cherry Tree B, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Octagon B on their visit to Steam Packet A.
Firkin Scholar won the early exchanges against Indian Inn A to lead 3-0, but still required Brum Jeavons to win the deciding game for a 6-5 victory while also winning by the narrowest of margins was Steam Packet B away at Cherry Tree A.
Despite notching two maximums, Alan McIlhiney was edged out 3-2 by Mark Williams which gave Packet B their match-winning point.
