Godfrey sets new mark for season's highest checkout

THERE were not many achievements to report from the most recent fixtures of the Plymouth and District Friday League, but one of note was a checkout by Simon Godfrey (pictured) which set a new mark for the season’s best.

His finish of 156 came in an 11-2 victory for Kings Tamerton CC when hosting Dinky Diner B while the best game of the week was won in 34 by Antony Hayman (29.44), who inspired Brewery Tap A to an 8-5 win against The Tradesman.

Sid Smith was on target with an outshot of 107 but finished up on the wrong end of a 10-3 scoreline when Royal Naval Arms B were defeated by Octagon SC.

Neal Hotchkiss was on target with three maximums as Steam Packet restricted Queens Dock to just a single point while Glynn Wells (27.05) once again caught the eye.

Wells top-scored with 13 throws of a ton or more and won his singles in 37, which was the highlight of City Social A’s 13-0 drubbing of Pennycross SC.

Results: Indian Inn B 9, Brewery Tap B 4; The Windmill 6, Indian Inn A 7; Royal Naval Arms A 13, Victory Inn 0; Queen and Constitution 1, Mainstone CC 12; Bull and Bush 6, The Fawn 7; Dinky Diner A 11, Porters 2; City Social C 3, Weston Mill OV 10.
