Keelan puts in top showing to win England Grand Prix

KEELAN Kay continued his recent run of good form by winning the England Grand Prix event in Bristol today.

In the round robin stages the England Youth international remained undefeated topping his group with four victories.

In the last 16 he defeated Hannah Meadwell 3-0 before beating Fred Box 3-1 in the last eight.

In the semi-finals which took place on stage, he overcame his England team-mate Mitchell McCarthy 4-0 and then took the title with a 5-0 victory in the final over Sussex’s Lewis Gurney

Only yesterday the 17-year-old defeated a very strong field in Plymouth to qualify for the 2019 Worthington’s Champion of Champions.

Keelan will now compete in the grand finals at St David’s Hall, Cardiff on August 24, in the prestigious event that carries a prize fund of £31,500.
