Patriots' good form enables them to push 11pts clear

PORTERS Patriots were in a rich vein of form when they hosted Fawn B in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League and in winning 9-2, put 66 throws of a ton or more on the scoreboard, 24 of which were 140s.

John Mann (100x16) won 3-0, aided by a 14-darter and Andy Bates (100x14) also gave a good account of himself.

Jaden Whitting (100x15) caught the eye for the visitors and in winning 3-0, took his best leg in 14.

Maritime Misfits were pushed the full distance by their stablemates Maritime Musketeers and edged a competitive fixture 6-5, but despite remaining in second spot, are 11 points adrift of the leaders.

Dave Matthews (26.84) won 3-0 in 15, 21 and 20 and Peter Holland for the Musketeers was a 3-1 winner in 18, 17 and 20.

Torpoint Cons defeated Indian Inn 6-1, the highlight being a 601 doubles leg in 18 for Neil Reid and Andy Waters.

A 15-darter from Jason Pinkerton in a 3-0 victory was the highlight of Maritime Governor’s 8-3 win away at The Clifton, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Victory Inn A away at The Falstaff.

Brewery Tap secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer away at Victory Inn B and were buoyed by an excellent 601 doubles victory for Sarah Brown (pictured) and Glyn Wells.

They won 2-0 in 19 and 20, posting a 30.82 average. Wells (100x12) went on to clinch a 3-0 singles victory, aided by two 17 darters.

Dave Pethick (100x13) top scored for Octagon in their 10-2 success away at Cherry Tree while Porters Pretenders also won on the road and defeated Fawn A 7-4.

Mike Nancholas won 3-1 for the hosts with his best leg coming in 14 while Scott Wapshott (100x11) top scored which included a brace of 180s.

Maritime Governors defeated The Clifton 8-3 and had Jason Pinkerton and Scott Hutchinson both winning in three straight legs, achieving legs in 15 and 16 respectively.

Brewery Tap’s Maria O’Brien won 3-0 and finished a 15-dart leg with a kill of 160, which was the week’s highest checkout, a feat she shared with Dave Hall of Fawn B.
