Quinton Taylor earns the plaudits with 30+ average

CHERRY Tree edged a competitive fixture away at Victory Inn B in the Plymouth City Super League, but it was Quinton Taylor (30.06) (pictured) who earned the plaudits when emerging a 3-0 winner in 15, 16 and 19.

Victory Inn A, despite leading 3-1, had to settle for a 6-5 win to preserve their unbeaten record.

In a high-scoring fixture, that saw eight maximums recorded, the Honicknowle side finally edged it 6-5, and had Scott Lawrey hitting a brace of 180s, with Shaun Dring replying for Maritime.

Phil Dare (100x13) top scored as Steam Packet won 8-3 away at The Clifton while The Fawn and The Staddy were both 9-2 winners against Hyde Park and Ker St A respectively.

Jason Pinkerton (100x14) and Dave Collins (100x12) were consistent throughout for their respective teams before Plympton Cons A edged out Kings Tamerton CC 6-5.

Maritime B won away at Plympton Cons B but despite leading 3-1, required Frankie Stout to clinch the 11th point when he defeated Lee Doncaster 3-2.

It was also the same in Ker St B’s win at Victoria. Traililing 4-1, the Devonport side rallied to pull it back to 5-5, before Paul Tackle beat Jim Thompson 3-1.

The Clifton had Wayne Town throwing the week’s top checkout with a mark of 130 while other notable outshots were achieved by Andy Pengelly (116), Marc Webber (116), John Brownlow (113), Pete C-Ray (105), Shaun Dring (100), Tyler Wells (100).
