Dominant Patriots put up 61 ton plus scores in 9-2 win

THE Patriots continue to dominate the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League and showed their prowess by scoring 61 tons in a 9-2 defeat of Torpoint Cons.

The fixture saw no fewer than nine maximums scored, three of which came from Antony Hayman who has now hit 18 for the season in as many matches.

Andy Bates hit a brace in a 13-ton haul and John Mann (100x13) was also prominent but not to be denied was Torpoint’s Andrew Waters (pictured).

He hit back to back 180s before having to settle for a 15-darter and another maximum helped him to a 3-2 singles victory against Alex Turner (100x13).

Maritime Governors defeated Fawn B 8-3, inspired by good performances from Dan Johnson (25.47) who won in 18, 17 and 24 and Lee Hellings (26.37) who was successful in 16, 19 and 22.

Kings Arms were one of five teams to win by a 10-1 margin and in disposing of The Clifton, had Warren Gordon and Paul Palmer achieving games in 14 and 15 darts respectively.

Scott Lawrey scored two maximums for Victory Inn A in a 10-1 defeat of Maritime Musketeers the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by both Falstaff and Maritime Misfits against Indian Inn and Victory Inn B respectively.

There were 15-darters for both Alfie Ford and Ralph Lancaster as Octagon overcame Porters Pretenders 8-3 while Fawn A achieved an identical winning scoreline when hosting Maritime Nutters and had Mark Sargeant winning 3-1 with his best leg coming in 14.

Brewery Tap dropped just a single point in their fixture away at Cherry Tree and in a 2-0 doubles victory, Glyn Wells and Sarah Brown took one of the 601 legs in 20 darts.

Maria O’Brien (100x12) emerged a 3-1 winner in the singles and finished a 15-dart leg with the week’s highest outshot of 156.
