Vintage performance from Danny inspires Governors

DANNY Allen (pictured) produced some vintage form in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League and inspired Maritime Governors to a 10-1 victory against The Clifton.

He partnered Lewis Dare to a 601doubles win in 22 and 23 (26.71) before emerging a 3-0 winner in 12, 19 and 19, boasting a 30.06 average.

The match produced eight maximums with Allen notching a brace and team-mate Scott Hutchinson, three.

King Billy Inn secured maximum points when hosting Maritime Nutters while Torpoint Cons won 9-1 away at Indian Inn and Brewery Tap defeated Victory Inn B 7-4.

Porters Patriots kept up their winning habit and made it 24 on the bounce when defeating Fawn B 9-2.

Antony Hayman emerged a 3-1 winner in 15, 16 and 17 and hit three maximums throughout the fixture making it 24 for the season from 24 matches.

Maritime Misfits had Dave Matthews (100x13) top scoring in their 7-4 success against stable-mates Maritime Musketeers but the Musketeers received good service from Lee Agar (26.84) who won 3-0 in 17, 18 and 21.

Porters Pretenders secured all but one of the 11 points when hosting The Fawn, but it was the visitors who put in some eye-catching performances.

Mike Nancholas top scored with 14 throws of a ton or more and Mark Sargeant, aided by two maximums, took legs in 15 and 13 only to be edged out by Mark Yeoman.

Victory A consolidated their position in the top two when winning 10-1 against Falstaff and had Neil White (27.33) winning in 17, 17 and 21 and Kelvin Rowe (26.36) in 19, 21 and 17.

Octagon also won by a 10-1 margin against visitors Cherry Tree, the only highlight being a 14-dart leg from Dave Pethick in a 3-1 singles success.

Victory A’s Paul Flower threw the week’s highest checkout with a mark of 152 while other notable outshots were also achieved by: Mark Sargeant (126), Andy Bates (116), Lee Hellings (114), Paul Tozer (112), Tony Conn (105), Dan Johnson (103/100), Ian Heggie (100), Simon Washington (100).
