Moment of euphoria for Cons' Chambers

JEFF Chambers rolled back the years and produced a moment of euphoria to claim a 39.00 single dart average.

Partnered with Tony Teal and Dave Collins in the first treble of Plympton Cons A’s 8-3 victory away at Maritime B, the Cornishman made just four visits to the oche, scoring 140-45-140 before finishing the 36-dart leg with the week’s top checkout of 143.

No fewer than six maximum throws were scored throughout, and Neil White achieved a brace of 180s for Maritime in a 15-ton haul.

The top of the table clash between the second and third placed teams saw Porters B maintain their unbeaten record away at Dartsworld but, despite leading 5-1, had to settle with a 6-5 victory.

ROLLING BACK THE YEARS: Jeff Chambers achieved a single dart average of 39.00 whilst finishing a 36-dart treble with the week's highest checkout.

The fixture produced five maximums, two of which were recorded by Simon Stevenson for the hosts who also took a leg in 14 before going on to a 3-0 singles victory.

The Staddy strengthened their position at the top of the table and in winning 9-2 away at The Fawn, increased their lead to eight points.

There were two big wins in double figures for Kings Arms A (11-0) and Ships Tavern (10-1) against The Albemarle and St Levan Inn respectively while in a much closer contest Ker St defeated Hyde Park 6-5.

Hyde Park came from a 3-0 deficit to pull level at 5-5, only for Paul Lamerton to claim the 11th and decisive point for the Devonport side by a 3-2 margin.

Shaun Dring (100x12) hit a 15-dart leg in a 3-1 singles victory but was the only winner for Maritime A as they crashed to an 8-3 defeat away at Plympton Cons B.

Octagon Social Club overcame Clifton A 7-4 while Kings Arms B and Compton both won 9-2 against Clifton B and Porters A respectively.
