Kings Tamerton CC set the pace with five straight wins

KINGS Tamerton Community Centre have opened up a nine-point advantage at the top of the Plymouth and District Friday League and are one of only two teams who are unbeaten after five matches.

They defeated The Tradesman 11-2 to continue their good start to the campaign while City Social A moved up into second spot following an 10-3 win against Dinky Diner A.

Royal Naval Arms A have a game in hand on the table-toppers and moved into contention after winning all but one of the 12 points that were on offer when they hosted Indian Inn B.

PROMINENT: Jodie Hawton was prominent for Brewery Tap A and finished at the first time of asking from 113.

Andy Bates (27.81) was again prominent when claiming his singles in 36 and he was their leading marksman with 12 throws of a ton or more which included two maximums.

Steve Ebsworth and Alex Yates (27.05) clinched their doubles game in 37 but finished up on the wrong end of a 7-6 scoreline when Indian Inn A were edged out by Brookside when Phil Ingram won the decisive 13th point.

Dinky Diner B defeated City Social B 12-1 while Porters emerged 10-3 winners away at Brewery Tap B and had Jaime Sandford making a kill of 116.

Brewery Tap went down 8-5 away at Steam Packet but edged out Windmill 7-6 and in both games had Antony Hayman giving a good account of himself when securing his singles in 32 (31.28) and 33 (30.33) respectively.
