Octagon remain unbeaten with nine-point advantage

OCTAGON A made it 10 wins from as many starts in the Monday Premier League and top the table with a nine-point advantage over second placed Maritime Social Club.

The Keyham side secured all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when hosting Bluebird A, but catching the eye was Bluebird’s Mark Henley who went 2-0 up in 12 and 15 before being edged out 3-2 by Shaun Dring.

Last season’s champions Steam Packet defeated Porters A 8-3, putting 56 throws of a ton or more on the scoreboard.

Dave Matthews (100x15) pictured, was a 3-1 winner in 15, 16 and 21 and was well supported by Luke Johnson (27.83) who won 3-0 in 16, 19 and 19.

Shaun Bailey won 3-0, aided by a 15-darter, in Victory A’s 7-4 success against Bluebird B while The Tradesman and Octagon B were both 8-3 winners against Firkin Scholar and Bluebird D respectively.

Victory Inn B secured their first win of the season when edging out Porters B and gaining the all-important sixth point was Jason Dickson who produced the week’s top checkout of 147.

Indian Inn A won in double figures when restricting Ford Hotel to a single point while Bluebird C defeated Plympton Cons 9-2.
