Ant Makes Hay Whilst The Billy Shines

Former giant of the county game, Antony Hayman (31.15), produced his absolute vintage best in King Billy A's 7-4 Monday Premier League success over Octagon A.

Hayman was a 3-1 winner in the individual phase with three maximums, a 90 checkout and a brace of 13 darters all boosting his average considerably.

The third 13 dart leg in the match came from teammate Andrew Cook (29.76) who also added an 18 darter in his 3-1 win to sit nicely alongside thirteen tons over the contest as a whole.

Hayman finished his evening on eleven ton plusses whilst the man who was on the end of that mauling was Paul Palmer who netted himself a leg in 18 in the solitary chalk mark he put against his name.

Palmer ended that contest with a maximum on his way to ten tons, which was the fourth of six 180s plundered between the two games.

Hayman's teammate Alec Turner was another 180 hitter whilst Palmer's stablemate Lee Hellings added a maximum to his ten ton haul.

A further leg in 18 darts came from Sean Burkitt whilst Hellings (27.33) picked up a 17 dart leg in his 3-0 triumph.

Hellings joined Jayden Dodd in completing a ten ton haul on a successful night individually, but ultimately not for the team.

King Billy B's Scott Cook rained seventeen ton plusses down onto second placed opponents Victory but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat that came down to a final leg shootout.

Cook's tally was propped up by two maximums that were plundered in a 3-2 individual defeat to Liam Taylor who finished his evening on ten tons.

Cook fired a 13 dart leg in that particular singles rubber that contributed to a period that saw the away side squander a 4-1 lead.

Another contributor to a fabulous encounter was Taylor's teammate Dan Johnson who finished his night on eleven tons overall.

Cook's stablemate Paul Goundry was another ten ton hitter whilst over the 601 distance, Taylor and Alex Roach's 21 darter was only bettered by Cook and Gavican's leg in 20.

Taylor's Dad, Quinton Taylor, was also in good nick during his 3-1 win as he ploughed in his team's only maximum and legs in 13 and 18 darts.

After a phenomenal comeback by the Honicknowle side, Ryan Harris steered his side home with a 3-2 success in the eleventh and final tie of the contest.

Runaway leaders Tradesmans secured an 11-0 win at Bluebird A in a match that saw talisman John Mann dominate the scoring phase with fifteen ton plusses.

The cherry on top of Mann's tally was one of the five maximums hit between the two teams as Mike O'Brien added one of his own.

O'Brien finished the night on fourteen three figure scores personally whilst Fred Goldsmith rounded off his ten ton haul with a maximum of his own.

Jaden Whitting was the fourth 180 hitter for the champions elect whilst the solitary three treble visit by the opposition came from the arm of Wayne Oddie.

Oddie's teammate Dale Halford was at his rampant best in the score phase with thirteen tons, but he could convert that into a golden point for the Compton outfit.

Jamie Roberts did put one leg onto the scoreboard with a 120 checkout that was only bettered by Lee Agar's 130 kill that was the best finish of the match.

Tradesmans put a marker firmly down in the very first leg of the match as the trio of Mann, Goldsmith and Simon Washington (32.04) put together an 801 trebles leg in just 25 darts.

In the individual portion of the match, O'Brien was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a 16 darter that settled for second fiddle to Mann's 15 dart leg in a 3-1 victory.

Gary Clarke put on thirteen tons to for Cherry Tree A, which gave the home side the springboard to claim an 8-3 win over Indian Inn.

Mike Whatley's 16 dart leg in his 3-0 win was only bettered in the contest by Matt Nicholson's leg in 15 during a 3-1 victory.

Nicholson also put up a 180 whilst Lee Wyatt shone for the defeated team with his two moments of magic coming in the form of a 100 checkout to go alongside his team's only maximum.

Cherry Tree B's Marc Webber fired his team to a 7-4 win over Octagon B with a ten ton tally that included a game high checkout of 116.

Webber was also a 3-1 winner in the individual phase with legs in 17 and 18 darts providing his best whilst the only moment of note by the defeated home side came from Chris Edgecombe's 180.
