Jay-Done Good

Jayden Dodd fired fifteen ton plusses for a rampant Octagon A team as they continue to hang onto the coat tails of the leaders in the Monday Premier League thanks to a 10-1 win over Cherry Tree A.



Dodd's total was accented by three of six maximums in the contest overall as teammates Lee Hellings and Dave Pethick also chalked one up each for the visitors.


That Pethick effort was one of ten tons for the Octagon stalwart whilst Hellings 101 checkout was only beaten on the night by a brilliant 110 three dart combo by Alfie Ford.



Despite the high checkout, Ford would be the only loser of the evening for the victors as Gary Clarke scored his team's only maximum in a 3-1 win, which also featured an 18 darter for Clarke.


Dodd added crucial 18 dart leg of his own in a 3-2 singles win whilst Hellings 16 darter was usurped by a leg in 14 from opponent Matt Nicholson in a 3-1 win for the former.



A Bluebird derby between the C and A teams finished with a 9-2 win for the C team with Glenn Austin supporting that performance brilliantly with thirteen three figure scores.


Austin also checked the shortest leg of the match with a fine 16 dart win in a 3-1 success over Jack McMinn who also managed to reach thirteen tons overall.



That leg by Austin bettered a 17 darter from Lee Roberts who won his singles by the same scoreline; one of five individual winners for the C team.


The A team's only singles victory came from the hand of Jon Merrafield who won 3-0 with thanks to a 117 checkout whilst teammate Shaune Kittle shone overall when reaching double figures of tons.



Leaders Tradesmans dropped only two legs in an 11-0 whitewash of Union Inn which was contributed to heavily by John Mann who reached twelve ton plusses.


The Stonehouse team put four maximums on the scoreboard with Billy Evans brace added to by Shaun Dring and Lee Agar.



Evans also added the highest recorded checkout with a fine 101 in his 3-2 win over Dave Hollow who put his team's only 180 on the board on his way to ten ton plusses.


Dring added ten more tons to his maximum to reach eleven for the evening and added legs of 18 and 15 in a 3-0 individual success.



That leg was only beaten by Mann who also won by the same scoreline thanks in part to legs of 18 and the lowest recorded 14 darts.


Mike O'Brien was a third player for the victors to reach double figures of tons has he matched Dring's eleven ton haul in a dominant team display.



An entertaining tie between Indian and Victory A that saw five of the twelve players reach double figures in tons ended with the latter gaining a 6-5 win.


Ryan Harris was the top scorer for the visitors with twelve tons; a haul that was matched by both Danny Bull and Alec Turner for the defeated Stoke village team.



Bull's total was added to by a brace of 180s with Harry Bull and Victory's Tony Conn managing the other maximums of the topsy-turvy contest.


After going 3-1 down, Turner added the highest checkout of the match with a fine 110 to leave the scoreline perilous going into the singles phase before two wins for the home team allowed them to take the lead.



However, The Honicknowle team fired three straight wins to take the game beyond their hosts with Tony Tasker (27.83) reeling off legs of 18 and 15 darts in a 3-0 at the tail end of that spell.


Sandwiched in the middle was a 3-1 win for Richard Wheatley over reigning league individual champion, Harry Bull, that saw Wheatley score nine of his eleven tons overall during the matchup.



A 9-2 home win for King Billy over Brewery Tap saw both Scott Wapshott and Matt Chegwin reach twelve ton plusses overall.


Andrew Cook (27.83) added legs of 17 and 18 darts in good 3-0 singles win and hit the highest checkout in the contest with a fine 89 one visit kill.



Cook was also one of four individuals to manage a 180 with Chegwin joining teammate Kevin Lofthouse in achieving the feat.


Despite finishing on the wrong end of the defeat, Sean Taylor continue his unbeaten start to the and hit his team's only noteworthy contribution with a 180 of his own.



Dan Hurley was prominent with eleven tons for the Bluebird B team as they got over the line in a 6-5 win against Octagon B.


Paul Barclay fired the first maximum in the first game of the night to see his team build 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the team games.



Vince Scallan then fired his team's only 180 in a 3-2 win to level before Steve Daley checked 80 in a 3-0 win and Andrew Waters added another maximum for his team to put the Stonehouse team on the brink with a 5-3 lead.


Hurley then started a rally for the visitor from Compton who finished a superb comeback with a Dale Halford 3-1 win in the final tie of the match; the only time they'd led over the contest.



A 7-4 Victory B win over Cherry Tree B saw Paul Gavican reach ten tons as a close contest was turned on it's head with the Honicknowle team reeling off five of six individual games.


Gavican managed a leg in 17 in his 3-0 win whilst Scott Cook (25.47) won legs in 15 and 17 darts during his success by the same scoreline.



The Pennycross team's only individual win was brilliant executed by George Beckett (27.33) who took a leg in 17 in a 3-0 triumph.
