Miller Puts Cherry On Top

Nick Miller's salvo in the game of the night in the Plymouth Open League Supplementary Cup Final gave Cherry Tree B the trophy over their Division C opponents, St Johnston B.

The game ebbed and flowed to a 5-5 crescendo with one left to play, and Miller held his nerve in the final tie of the match to give his team the victory with a 2-0 win that was accented by a 17 darter.

Tyler Borthwick produced some magical darts that the occasion deserved with ten tons overall but still found himself on the wrong side of the narrow defeat.

Miller also helped himself to the highest checkout of the match with a fine 100 in the contest and was well supported by teammate Kieran Harris who nailed the game's only maximum.

King Billy A made it a second league and cup double in just two years playing together in the Knockout Cup Final played on the same night with an 8-3 win over St Levans.

The two sides put on quite the show with sixty-seven ton plusses between the teams with the Devonport team pulling away during the singles phase after only narrowly winning the team phase 3-2.
