Pearce Is A Tex Pistol

Tex Pearce was the highest scorer of no fewer than seven of the twelve players on show with fourteen three figure scores for the St Levans in a 7-4 success over Victory A in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Shaun Dring, who joined Mike Pearce and Victory's Quinton Taylor in hitting a maximum, was the next best player with thirteen tons overall.

Taylor's teammate shared that honour with Dring by also firing thirteen ton plusses; some of which helped him get the better of Tex Pearce 3-2 in the singles phase as both traded an 18 dart blow during the game.

The best leg of the evening though went to Taylor who notched a 16 darter in his 3-0 win during the individual games.

Mike Pearce found the treble bed with regularity as he reached eleven whilst teammate Anna Johnson also reached ten tons on her way to fine 3-2 win over Paul Goundry.

Johnson had to work for her win as Goundry was one of two more players to hit ten tons on the night; Tony Tasker making up the trio.

Tony Perkin sixteen ton plusses in Octagon's 11-0 whitewash of the Fawn A was unrivalled in an excellent performance.

Alfie Ford put away the other three magnificent checkouts on his way to fifteen ton plusses in Octagon's 11-0 win over Fawn A.

Ford's 100 and 101 were added to with a fine 114 checkout whilst Tony Perkin also showed his sharp finishing with a 103 kill in one visit.

Perkin also teamed with Nick Dodd (33.34) in the doubles to take out a 601 leg in just 18 darts whilst Ford also repeated that feat over the 501 distance in the singles.

Dodd matched Ford's game in his 3-0 individual win whilst stablemate Dave Pethick notched a brace of 180s on his way to ten tons.

Another whitewash victory was handed out by league leaders King Billy A in their trip to Indian Inn that produced no fewer than eight maximums along the way.

Antony Hayman's trio of efforts were added to by a brace from John Mann and a Scott Cook with a single effort whilst Ian Heggie and Mike Beale also struck for the defeated team.

Andrew Cook top scored with twelve ton plusses whilst Hayman and Mann ably supported their teammate with eleven and ten tons a piece.

Mann (29.47) won his individual game 3-0 with the help of a 15 and 17 dart leg whilst Andrew Cook added a 97 checkout and a 17 darter in his win by the same scoreline.

Jaden Whitting showed his undoubted scoring prowess with eleven tons in a 9-2 win for his Fawn B team against Cherry Tree.

Mike O'Brien was the next highest scoring player with ten tons whilst the pair teamed up in the doubles to take two 601 legs in 19 and 20 darts for a 30.82 single dart average.

Lee Agar's 3-0 singles win came with the help of a 17 dart leg whilst he was one of four players to hit maximums.

Marc Webber struck for the defeated team whilst Agar's teammate James Ewing hit one and Jodie Hawton claimed a brace.

Fred Goldsmith (25.05) was also in vintage form that's made him one of the most formidable players in Plymouth during his 3-0 singles triumph.

Paul Palmer bagged himself a 152 checkout that was the highest of the week and one of four maximums in a 7-4 loss for Kings Arms on the road at King Billy B.

Teammate Warren Gordon (29.47) was the best performer for the Oreston side in the individual phase; winning 3-0 thanks to legs of 16, 18 and 17 whilst helping himself to his team's other 180.

Mark Shears was the best of what the Devonport team had to offer with a brace of maximums and a leg in 15 darts during a 3-0 singles win.

Danny Allen scored eleven three figure scores, including a 122 three dart combination finish, but found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as Victory B lost to Torpoint Cons.

Allen netted a crucial 18 dart leg in a 3-2 win over Andrew Waters who himself chalked up a ten tons on the night; the most for the visitors from Cornwall.

Lee Rodmell and Paul Tackle paired for a 16 dart 601 leg whilst Tackle held his nerve with the contest tied at 5-5 to take the final individual game 3-0 to give the Torpoint team the spoils of a good, honest game of darts.
