Stevie Marks Return To Darts With Maximum

The Plymouth and District Friday Darts League was blessed with the presence of darting royalty in game week one as Steve Marker turned out for Tradesmans B.

The 2007 Champion of Champions return to the fold was certainly no damp squib as he threw a maximum in an 8-5 win for Tradesmans B over Grenville who had Dave Meyrick firing one back by way of riposte.

Kieran Burns threw fifteen tons at his former teammates, Victory Inn, when playing for new side King Billy A but still found himself on the wrong side of a 7-6 win.

One of that mammoth total was a 180, which was added to by former teammate Shaun Williams who scored the Honicknowle team's sole effort.

Burns (27.05) 37 darter in the individuals helped make the score respectable after the Victory came from 4-3 down to lead 7-5 before Burns claimed the final 1001 game in double quick time.

That leg was only bettered by John Brownlow's (27.81) 36 dart 1001 individuals, which contributed to a 12-1 win for Kings Tamerton over Ker St A.

There was 180s for Brownlow and teammate Mattie Searle whilst Del Cole's 86 checkout gave his team a least number of darts and highest checkout double for the first week of play.

A Jordan Turner 180 and ten tons for Robbie Bisgrove helped newly formed Indian Inn start the season with a 12-1 win over Ker St B; a win that puts them top of the pile after one played.

Stoke Bar and Grill were 10-3 winners over Brewery Tap in their first outing of the new season whilst Pennycross dispatched Cherry Tree by the same score line.

Current title holders Tradesmans A got their season off and running in emphatic fashion with an 11-2 win in their visit to Mainstone.
