Maritime A remain unbeaten . . . just!

THE 13th fixture of the season came close to being very unlucky for unbeaten Monday Premier League leaders Maritime A, but they rallied to come from behind and continue their winning ways.

The Keyham side went 2-0 down away at Steam Packet B but with the scoreline evenly poised at 5-5, Dan Scott emerged a 3-0 winner against Quinton Taylor for a win by the narrowest of margins.

Scott Hutchinson (100x15) top scored for the winners while for Packet, Neil White caught the eye when winning his singles 3-1 in 16, 18 and 16.

While the tabletoppers struggled, second placed Porters A were rampant and aided by a 13-dart leg for Scott Wapshott in a 3-0 win, the Barbican side moved to within two points of the leaders when taking all 11 points from their visit to Bluebird.

NEIL'S ALL WHITE: Steam Packet's Neil White gave a good account of himself and emerged a 3-1 winner in 16, 18 and 16.

No fewer than 32 points separated Prince Maurice A and Indian Inn B before their fixture but the Stoke side gave a far better performance than their league position would suggest.

From a 3-1 deficit, Indian played exceptionally well to lead 5-4 only to go down 6-5 when Glenn Halford and Lee Roberts salvaged the last two points for Prince Maurice.

Brookside A won 8-3 away at Shakespeare but the home side had Steve Barnes giving a good account of himself and was one of only two singles winners when achieving a brace of 18-dart legs before going on to a 3-0 victory.

Kieran Burns (100x15) top scored for Maritime B in their 7-4 success against Steam Packet A while Indian Inn A triumphed 9-2 over Octagon and City Social were 8-3 winners away at Ford Hotel.

Firkin Scholar won 7-4 on their visit to Porters B but the hosts had Andy Bates (100x14) as the fixture’s leading marksman and emerged a 3-0 singles winner, aided by a leg in 14.

Brookside B defeated Prince Maurice B 8-3 but not before the visitors had Mark Henley recording the week’s checkout with a mark of 131.

Also on target were: Nick Bryant (115), Scott Lawrey (112), Jordan Grimshaw (102), Keelan Kay (101), Neil White 100.
