Kings Tamerton reach 100 points in just nine matches

IT’S taken Kings Tamerton CC just nine matches to go through the 100-point barrier in the Plymouth and District Friday League and they boast a lead of 11 points over their nearest rivals following a 13-0 whitewash of Waterloo Inn, the highlight being a checkout of 108 by John Brownlow.

Second placed Indian Inn A had Bryan Hodgins making a kill of 105 in their 9-4 defeat of Weston Mill Oak Villa, while Royal Naval Arms A, in third spot, have two games in hand on the sides above them.

Their latest victory saw them whitewash The Office and in doing so, picked up both the week’s highest checkout and top game awards.

Matt Abbott finished at the first time of asking from 112, while Andy Bates (33.37) averaged over 100 for 10 throws when winning his individual game in 30 darts.

TOP GAME: Andy Bates recorded the week's top game when, in helping Royal Naval Arms A to a 13-0 whitewash of The Office, he delivered in 30 darts achieving a single dart average of 33.37.

George Beckett (28.60) won in 35, inspiring Steam Packet to a 10-3 victory away at City Social A, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Octagon Social Club and Porters against Indian Inn B and Railway Inn respectively.

There were also 10-3 victories for both Dinky Diner A and City Social C while Brewery Tap A triumphed 9-4 on their visit to The Fawn.

Antony Hayman finished at the first time of asking from 108 and team mate Pete James (31.28) had a solid individual success in 32 darts.

Following eight straight defeats, Royal Naval Arms B tasted success for the first time when they overcame City Social B 11-2 while The Tradesman emerged 10-3 winners at Dinky Diner B.

The two remaining fixtures were both keenly contested and won by narrowest of margins when Brookside and Jolly Miller edged out Queens Dock and Pennycross SC respectively.
