Taylor and Lamerton both achieve checkouts of 170

THERE were two checkouts of 170 recorded in the Plymouth City Super League, making a total of four for the season.

Quinton Taylor (100x12) (below left), hit the mark in a good single’s win to put The Albemarle 4-2 up, only for Maritime B to respond by taking four on the bounce to win by the odd game of 11.

Neil White top scored for the winners with 13 throws of a ton or more which included an outshot of 100.

Paul Lamerton (below, right) also checked out at the first time of asking from 170 but finished up on the wrong end of a 9-2 scoreline when Ker St Social Club were defeated by Octagon Social Club.

Alfie Ford caught the eye for Octagon when top-scoring with 15 ton-plus throws which included a finish of 100.

The Staddy took advantage of Porters B’s inactivity and moved to within six points of the leaders when beating Plympton Cons B 7-4.

Tony Gordon emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by a leg in 15 and also posted checkouts of 107 and 101 while team-mate Marc Cresswell was on target with a kill of 112.

Maria O’Brien (100x12) inspired St Levan Inn to an 8-3 victory away at Victoria, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Porters A and Ships Tavern against Clifton B and Kings Arms B respectively.

Plympton Cons A defeated Compton Social Club 9-2 and had Dave Collins maintaining his position at the top of the individual table while Kings Arms A won 7-4 at Hyde Park Social Club and Clifton A edged out The Fawn 6-5.

Phil Hoyle posted an outshot of 112 but could not prevent Maritime A from going down 8-3 when hosting Dinky Diner.

The fixture produced seven maximum scores with Hoyle and Danny Bull both hitting two each while also notching a brace of 180s were Cameron Pickard, John Petherick, Pete Down and Warren Gordon.
