Big wins for top three as they prepare for final run in

THE top three teams in the Plymouth City Super League all won in double figures as they prepare for the final run-in.

Porters B extended their unbeaten run to 37 matches and have a 12-point lead over their nearest rivals.

They won 10-1 away at Kings Arms B but were denied maximum points when Chrissie Kinnaird won her singles 3-1.

The Staddy, who won 10-1 away at Clifton B, look as if they will have to settle for runners-up while Octagon Social Club look to be the favourites to fill the third placed berth.

TOP CHECKOUT: Neil White inspired Maritime B to victory when he won his singles in three straight legs and achieved the week's top checkout when finishing from 160.

They were in good form on their visit to The Fawn and recorded 61 scores of a ton or more before winning all available points.

Fred Goldsmith caught the eye when top-scoring with 17 throws of a ton or more, 13 of which came in a 3-2 singles victory over Dave Roberts.

There were also good showings from Alfie Ford (100x11), Steve Packer (100x11) and Dave Pethick (100x11).

Maritime B were another side to take maximum points when hosting Ker St Social Club and had Billy Evans (30.67) achieving the week’s top average when emerging a 3-0 winner in 14, 16 and 19.

The award for the week’s highest checkout was also claimed by Maritime B when Neil White won his singles in three straight legs, aided by an outshot of 160.

Plympton Cons B defeated Hyde Park 8-3 with the highlight being a confident finish from John Donald (180x2).

Requiring 132, he stepped up to the oche and hit two bullseyes before planting his third dart into double 16.

Victoria came back from a 3-1 deficit to draw level at 5-5, only to be denied a rare victory when Porters A clinched the 11th and decisive point through Paul Wills.

St Levan Inn were edged out 6-5 by Kings Arms A for whom Pete Down won 3-2, aided by a leg in 14, while Clifton A won 8-3 away at Compton and Dartsworld and Maritime A were both 9-2 winners against The Albemarle and Ships Tavern respectively.

Three-figure checkouts were achieved by Marc Cresswell (118), Adam Searle (108), Alfie Ford (100), Steve Harris (100).
