Bryant's Twenty-One Ton Salute

Nick Bryant put together a fabulous total of twenty-one scores of a ton or more in a classic Plymouth City Super League Division A 6-5 win for Falstaff B over Ford Inn.

Keith Carter was the hero of the end of the game as he was a 3-1 winner in the final singles to give the hosts a hard fought victory.

Bryant was supported in the scoring phase of play by Phil Hoyle, who nailed three 180s on his way to twelve three figure visits.

Billy Evans also showed his scoring prowess with a ten ton haul, whilst it wasn't all one way traffic as Scott Wapshott top scored for the visitors with twelve tons.

Wapshott's teammates, Mike Whatley and Mark Shears, both added 180s to their eleven ton totals, which contributed to one hundred and seventeen tons between the two teams.

With all of the heavy scoring, the highest checkout was an unsurprisingly low 75 from Carter, whilst the crucial blow in Wapshott's 3-2 singles success came in the form of a 15 darter.

Whatley ticked off a leg in 14 in a 3-1 defeat to the rampant Bryant, who himself checked a brace of legs in 17 darts in a game that saw no leg go beyond seven visits to the board.

James Chudleigh was a 3-0 winner for the visitors with the help of an 18 darter, which left the scores at 5-5 and set the stage for Carter's aforementioned heroics.

John Mann (31.31) lit up Raffles Diamonds' 9-2 win at Kings Arms B with legs in 13 and 14 darts contributing to a 3-0 singles success.

Mann also walked away with twelve tons, whilst top scoring for the away team was Andy Bates and Lee Hellings, who both ended their evenings with fourteen three figure visits.

Neil White also caught the eye with a 180 on his way to thirteen tons, whilst Fred Goldsmith bagged a brace of maximums to top his own ton tally up to the eleven mark.

Steve Mills led the scoring charts for the hosts with fourteen ton plusses of his own, whilst teammate David Johns added a solitary maximum to his ten ton tally.

Martyn Down made it two three treble visits for the home team, whilst Hellings' 3-2 win over Mills came with the help of two 18 darters and a leg in 14, and Alfie Ford put away the highest checkout of 101.

Simon Stevenson (30.06) checked legs in 17, 18 and 15 darts during a 3-0 win that came in a 6-5 loss for Legends Lounge C at Tradesmans.

Those legs included checkouts of 76 and 89 as a rampant Stevenson left the oche with fourteen three figure visits to the board overall.

Stevenson's stablemate, Andy Malinowski, contributed heavily to the scoring phase with ten scores of a ton or more across the contest.

Simon Washington (27.33) was a 3-0 winner with one leg falling in just 13 darts in a game that also saw him complete a ten ton haul.

Over the 601 distance, Washington and Chris Edgecombe shared an 18 darter in their 2-1 win, whilst Stevenson and Matt Vosper put together a leg in 17 in a 2-0 triumph.

Edgecombe also helped himself to a 180 and a 98 checkout in that aforementioned win, and steered the hosts home to a 6-5 win in the final individuals with an accomplished 3-1 success that included an 18 darter.

Matt Thompson nestled thirteen ton plusses, but still found himself on the wrong side of a 7-4 defeat as Steampacket were downed by Raffles B.

Harry and Danny Bull both added 180s to their eleven ton hauls for the hosts, whilst Harry Bull checked 80 in a single visit for the best finish of the night for his team.

That checkout and a 15 darter helped Bull to a 3-2 singles victory, whilst George Beckett put up a brace of maximums for the defeated team.

Beckett's teammate Neal Hotchkiss was a 3-0 winner in the final singles, with his best effort coming in the form of an 88 combination outshot.

Twelve ton plusses from both Tyler Borthwick and Lewis Dare fired Raffles A to a 9-2 win in a visit to Stonehouse and Duchy A.

Borthwick added his team's only maximum to that particular tally, whilst AJ Brunton was a 180 hitter for the defeated home team.

Borthwick's 3-1 singles success contained two legs in 18 darts and two 80 checkouts that were only beaten by an 87 from opponent Mark Langdon.

Legends Lounge A were on the receiving end of a 6-5 loss, but not before Aiden Stenson produced twelve ton plusses in the contest against Ship's Tavern.

Steve Towl, Nathan Langdon and Cameron O'Brien all picked up ten ton hauls to lead the away team to a narrow victory,

O'Brien tally was ticked over to that mark by two maximums, whilst there were solitary efforts from teammate Frankie Stout and Stenson's stablemate Sean Burkitt.

Checkouts of 98 from Liam Taylor and 70 by O'Brien were the best finishes by each respective team, and Langdon's 15 darter helped him over the line to a 3-2 success

Dan Hurley's twelve scores of a ton or more were not enough to stop Compton Social from succumbing to a 9-2 loss at the hands of Falstaff A.

Scott Cook led the charge for the away side with eleven three figure visits, and he was well supported by Kelvin Rowe, who walked away from the oche with a ten ton haul.

Five 180s adorned the contest as Paul Goundry's brace was added to by Cook and Quinton Taylor, whilst Owen Cook put together the only three treble visit for the home side.

Goundry contributed to the highlights at the business end with a 114 checkout that came in a 3-1 win that was matched by Archibald with the help of a 17 dart leg.

Fawn A's 8-3 win at Ker St A was dominated by the scoring prowess of Mike Trim, who bagged a three treble visit on his way to eleven tons overall.

Ian Heggie fired eleven ton plusses back for the defeated hosts, whilst further 180s from Trim's teammate Dave Roberts and Heggie's stablemate Paul Tackle made it a trio in the contest.

Trim's heroics didn't stop at the scoring phase as he put together an 89 single visit combination outshot during his 3-1 triumph.
