Cons A share the lead but only 2pts separate top five

PLYMPTON Cons A are now joint leaders of the Plymouth City Super League after defeating Kings Arms 9-2.

They share the lead with The Tradesman, who won 8-3 away at Compton Social Club, buoyed by a good performance from Lee Rodmell (below) who, in winning his singles in three straight legs, finished a 15-dart leg with a kill of 152.

Another excellent checkout of 151 was achieved by Rick Trinder in Cherry Tree’s 7-4 victory against The Albemarle but the top finish of the week was one of 155.

This was executed by James Preen in winning the last singles of the match 3-0, so giving Maritime A an 8-3 victory against St Levan Inn.

Alfie Ford inspired Octagon Social Club to a 10-1 win away at The Fawn, when winning his singles in three straight legs.

The marksman achieved his best game in 14 darts as well as winning another leg with a kill of 130.

The Bluebird were on the cusp of causing an upset when 4-1 up against The Staddy but could only win one of the singles through Glenn Halford and were edged out 6-5.

Warren Gordon caught the eye for The Staddy, recording three scores of 180 and winning his singles in three straight legs, aided by a 15-darter.

Plympton Cons B won 9-2 away at Victoria, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by the B team, when they defeated their stablemates Maritime C.

Jonathan Easterbrook took out a 14-darter before going on to a 3-0 singles success and Shaun Dring also won without loss, aided by a checkout of 112.

Ships Tavern defeated The Clifton 8-3 but in the best encounter of the match, top scorer Dave Johns (100x18) became the only singles loser for the Elburton side when he was edged out 3-2 by Andy Pengelly.

A win in double figures by Porters has seen them consolidate fifth place but are only two points behind the leaders.

In their 10-1 defeat of Ker St, Lewis Dare achieved a 15-dart leg while Ian Heggie, for the Devonport side, hit a 13-darter but was edged out 3-2 by Paul Palmer.
