Victory A consolidate at top of the table with 10-1 win

VICTORY Inn A consolidated their position at the top of the Monday Premier League with a 10-1 defeat of Ford Hotel, a win which gives them a four-point advantage over the chasing pack.

Darren Collis top scored with 12 throws of a ton or more and in winning his singles in three straight legs, Keelan Kay achieved a leg in 15 which he finished with the week’s highest checkout of 151.

Steam Packet B are now eight points off the pace after they were edged out 6-5 by Prince Maurice A, in a well-contested fixture that saw six maximums recorded, two of them coming from Packet’s Quinton Taylor.

Packet were prominent in the doubles and had Taylor and Alec Turner winning 2-0 in 20 and 21 (29.32), while Neil White and Pete Roulston also won 2-0 with their best leg coming in 20.

But the Eggbuckland side rallied well after trailing 3-1 and at 5-5, Glenn Austin (pictured) won the decisive 11th point with a fine singles victory against Roulston (100x12) that went the full five legs.

Indian Inn secured maximum points with an 11-0 defeat of Hyde Park Social Club and also winning in double figures were Octagon B and Porters A who both won 10-1 against Victory B and City Social respectively.

Alan Masters (100x11) was prominent in Cherry Tree A’s 7-4 success away at Indian Inn B while The Tradesman defeated The Bluebird 9-2 and Prince Maurice B overcame Steam Packet A 8-3.

Brewery Tap are in second spot following their 9-2 win over Firkin Scholar and had Antony Hayman hitting a brace of 180s in a 3-0 singles success.

Paul Bowen gave a good account of himself when top-scoring with 15 throws of a ton or more but finished up on the wrong side of a 6-5 scoreline when Plympton Cons were edged out at Cherry Tree B.

Maritime were in good form when hosting Porters B and in winning 10-1, hit 55 throws of a ton or more.

Scott Hutchinson (100x13), Shaun Dring (100x12) were their big scorers as well as Kieran Burns (100x12) who, in winning his singles 3-1, finished a 15-darter with a kill of 139.

Other notable outshots were achieved by: Steve Daley (130), John Cook (124), Mark Henley (119), Scott Hutchinson (100).
