Leading trio consolidate their positions at top of table

THERE is little change at the top of the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League table after the leading trio won in double figures, in another high-scoring week which produced 16 ton plus checkouts and more than 40 maximum scores.

Porters Patriots made it 16 wins on the bounce when they took all but one of the 11 points that were on offer when hosting The Falstaff.

Malcolm Johns top scored with 16 ton-plus throws and John Mann (100x14) emerged a 3-1 winner with his best legs coming in 12 and 13.

Andy Bates also claimed a game in 13 while Antony Hayman emerged a 3-0 winner in 17, 13 and 17 for a superb 31.98 average.

Second placed Victory A secured maximum points against Indian Inn B and had Scott Lawrey (27.83) emerging a 3-0 winner in 16, 17 and 21.

Porters Pretenders plundered all available points from their visit to Maritime Nutters while Maritime Marauders consolidated third spot with a 10-1 success away at Compton.

Mike Pearce (26.84) emerged a 3-0 winner in 17, 21 and 18 and Phil Hoyle top scored with 14 ton plus throws.

Brewery Tap won by the narrowest of margins when they visited The Fawn while in a re-arranged match, Kings Arms defeated Maritime Nutters 9-2.

Warren Gordon was their leading marksman with 15 throws of a ton or more while in a well contested doubles game James Baker and Gerald Bulley hit an 18-dart 601 leg before going on to a 2-1 victory against Warren Gordon and Dave Algar whose only leg came in 19.

Baker went on to win the hosts second point when he was their only success in the individual phases.

The Oreston side could not follow up that success unfortunately and were edged out 6-5 away at Maritime Governors after losing the last three singles.

Reg Matthews caught the eye when winning 3-1 in 20, 15 and 18 but with the scoreline evenly poised at 5-5, Scott Hutchinson (100x13) won the decisive point in three straight legs, aided by a win in 15.

Fawn B also won by the narrowest of margins away at Maritime Musketeers while Dave Pethick (100x14) was on target for Octagon Social Club in their 10-1 defeat of Victory B.

In the remaining fixtures, Duchy of Cornwall and The Office both won 8-3 against Indian Inn A and Cherry Tree respectively.

Mike Pearce of Maritime Marauders headed the 180s when registering three in a 3-0 singles victory while all scoring two each were: Mark Shears, Ryan Parker, Antony Hayman, Harry Harrison, Gary Phillips and Phil Hoyle.

The top checkout of the week was 150, executed by Tony Tasker (pictured), while also on target were: Ralph Lancaster (146), Alex Turner (130), Scott Wapshott (130), Malcolm Johns (122), Lewis Dare (121), Reg Matthews (120), James Baker (120, 114), Mike Nancholas (117), Graham Farrow (117), Paul Tozer (115), Dave Algar (114), Sarah Brown (111), Lee Agar (108), Damian Noad (104).
