Rowe and Lawrey achieve 116.32 ave in doubles win

VICTORY Inn A were one of only two teams that won in double figures in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League and in doing so, produced one of the best ever doubles games that the league has witnessed.

In defeating Indian Inn B 10-1, the Honicknowle side had Kelvin Rowe (pictured top) and Scott Lawrey (below) winning their 601 doubles game in 16 and 15, posting a brilliant three-dart average of 116.32.

League champions Porters Patriots also won dropping just a single point and had John Mann (28.86) emerging a 3-1 winner in 17, 18, 17.

The Office were in a rich vein of form when they visited the Cherry Tree and in winning, 9-2, put 55 throws of a ton or more on the scoreboard.

Top performers were Paul Gavican (100x13), Simon Washington (100x12) and Graham Jones (100x11) who all emerged 3-1 winners.

Kings Arms had to settle for a 6-5 victory despite holding a 6-1 advantage when hosting Maritime Governors.

Dave Collins (18, 17, 18) and Chrissie Kinnaird (3-0) won the Oreston side their fifth and sixth point before the visitors took four on the bounce which included a 3-1 success for Paul Palmer (100x13), aided by a leg in 13.

Dan Scott was also prominent throughout and top scored with 16 ton plus throws which included the week’s highest checkout of 151.

Octagon Social Club returned from Victory B with an 8-3 success while Brewery Tap defeated Fawn A 7-4.

Glynn Wells (26.98) won 3-1 in 11, 20, 20, aided by two maximums while Kieran Burns (100x13) top scored.

Porters Pretenders defeated Maritime Nutters 9-2, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Maritime Marauders when hosting Compton.

Dave Matthews was on target for the Marauders with a brace of 180s and Phil Hoyle emerged a 3-0 winner, aided by two legs in 17.

Fawn B edged out Maritime Musketeers 6-5 while The Melbourne overcame Indian Inn 7-4.

Frankie Stout (100x11) caught the eye for the winners when hitting a 16-darter in a 3-1 victory while Indian Inn’s Ian Heggie (100x11) also impressed.
