The Office return to the top of the table in Friday Lge

THE Office A took advantage of City Social A’s inactivity to return to the top of the Plymouth and District Friday League with a 10-3 victory away at The Fawn, despite a good showing from the host’s Alan Brady (28.60) who won in 35.

The Windmill made it six wins on the bounce when they defeated Queen and Constitution 10-3, buoyed by a good performance from Mark Shears (pictured) who clinched his individual game in 34 darts for a 29.44 average, the second- best game of the season.

Shears’ team-mate Phil Wilkie threw the highest checkout of the week with a mark of 105, the only ton plus finish that was achieved.

Porters A secured all but one of the 13 points that were on offer away at Brewery Tap and had Danny Bull (28.60) winning in 35. He also top scored with 10 ton-plus throws, six of which came in his singles.

The Tradesman suffered their first defeat of the campaign when they were edged out 7-6 by Porters C for whom Kevin Marlow was on target with a brace of 180s.

Indian Inn A were the week’s biggest winners and took maximum points when hosting Royal Naval Arms.

Paul Gavican (26.34) threw the best game of the match with a win in 38 and he was also on target with two 180s.

Firkin Scholar led Ker St Social Club 4-0 after the early exchanges, but the visitors rallied and made it 6-6 before Yvette Ward won the deciding point to give Ker St their second victory of the campaign.
