No change at top of table as leading duo win 11-0

THERE is no change at the top of the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League after the top two teams both secured maximum points.

Porters Patriots had Alex Turner hitting two maximums in a 3-0 singles win away at The Falstaff while second placed Maritime Misfits won on the road at Cherry Tree.

Misfits had Shaun Dring top-scoring with 13 throws of a ton or more which included a brace of 180s and in winning his singles 3-2, he achieved his best legs in 15 and 16.

Richard Wheatley (pictured) was on target with the week’s top checkout when finishing at the first time of asking from 135.

Lee Agar (100x13) and Peter Holland (100x13) laid the foundations for a 10-1 victory by Maritime Musketeers when hosting Indian Inn A, while Maritime Governors overcame Torpoint Cons 9-2.

Danny Allen (100x14) was prominent for the winners and team-mate Jason Pinkerton claimed a leg in 14 before going on to take his singles 3-0.

Kings Arms defeated King Billy 8-3, but the visitors had Simon Washington and Kevin Seal edging out Paul Palmer and Dave Algar 2-1 in the 601 doubles despite the Kings Arms duo taking their leg in 17.

Palmer returned to winning ways in the singles though with a 3-1 win in 18, 19 and 17 and was supported by Tony Teal who won 3-2 in 17, 17 and 21.

Octagon Social Club had Dave Pethick (25.05) emerging a 3-0 winner in 21, 21 and 18 as they kept Maritime Nutters to a single point while there were no surprises in the Victory Inn derby match with the A team prevailing 9-2.

Brewery Tap won 7-4 at Porters Pretenders in a high scoring fixture that produced six maximum scores.
