Fawn B go full distance with second-placed Victory Inn

FAWN B belied their position in the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League when they took second placed Victory Inn A to the wire.

No fewer than 52 points separated the two sides prior to this fixture but the Honicknowle side had to come from behind and win the last two singles to prevail 6-5.

The match produced six maximum throws, two of which came from Scott Lawrey in a 13-ton haul while top scoring for Fawn was Jaden Whitting (100x14).

Fawn’s Fred Goldsmith also caught the eye when winning 3-1, aided by a 15-dart leg.

Porters Patriots increased their lead to 29 points when they won 11-0 away at The Clifton, the only team to win in double figures.

Antony Hayman (31.98) emerged a 3-0 winner in 15, 15 and 17 and Andy Bates (pictured), as well as sharing four maximum scores with Hayman, threw the week’s top checkout of 160.

Kings Arms won 9-2 away at Porters Pretenders and have now moved within two points of second placed Victory Inn.

Dave Algar was on target with a brace of 180s while Porters James Stoodley hit 13 tons in a 3-2 singles success.

Fawn A won 7-4 away at Victory Inn B, the same winning scoreline that was also achieved by Brewery Tap when hosting Falstaff.

Paddy Archibald hit two 180s for the visitors while Maria O’Brien emerged a 3-1 winner with her best legs being won in 19 and 17 and Kieran Burns hit a 15-darter before going on to a singles success in three straight legs.

Torpoint Cons edged Maritime Misfits 6-5 but in the best singles of the fixture, Frankie Stout (100x15) edged out Lee Rodmell (100x15) 3-2, aided by two maximum scores.

King Billy defeated Cherry Tree 9-2 and there was also a 9-2 success for Maritime Governors away at Indian Inn.

Danny Allen (26.84) won 3-0 in 21, 19 and 16 and a 13-darter was the highlight in a 3-0 singles victory for Jason Pinkerton while Liam Campbell caught the eye for Indian when top-scoring with 16 throws of a ton or more.

Octagon Social Club won a close encounter away at Maritime Musketeers by the odd game of 11 and had Alfie Ford (27.33) winning 3-0 in 15, 16 and 24.
