An Act Of Dodd

Octagon A's Jayden Dodd reeled off a phenomenal nineteen ton plus haul in his team's 8-3 win over Union Inn in the Monday Premier League.

Dodd had to survive a barrage from Nathan Langdon who hit eleven tons of his own and added a 15 darter in his 3-2 defeat to Dodd.

One of those efforts from Langdon was a 120 checkout, which beat finishes of 107 from Paul Palmer and 103 from Simon Washington during the contest.

The aforementioned Dodd performance usurped another marvellous display coming from Lee Hellings who racked up seventeen three figure scores to the scoreboard.

Hellings' also won his singles 3-1 with the help of legs in 14 and 16 darts whilst teammate Alfie Ford also checked a leg in 16 in his 3-0 win.

Dave Pethick was another that was in the rich vein of form for the second placed team with eleven tons and paired with Washington (28.62) for a 21 dart 601 doubles game.

The pair both hit maximums during the doubles matchup that they eventually lost 2-1 to Langdon and teammate Dave Hollow whilst Dan Giles also reached ten tons for the evening for the defeated team.

Giles would unfortunately end up on the wrong side of an individual defeat though as Palmer ran out a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a leg in 18 darts.

John Mann produced legs of 16 and 17 darts as well as fourteen tons, including one of five 180s for his Tradesmans team in an 11-0 whitewash success over Octagon B.

The match was littered with heavy scoring and short legs as Mike O'Brien (28.36) hit a maximum and a 15 darter during his singles game, which was taken by a 3-0 score line.

Shaun Dring (30.06) won his individual game 3-0 with the help of legs in 14 and 15 darts as well as a brace of maximums.

A pair of 18 darters from Andy Bates as well as another team 180 secured a 3-1 success whilst Lee Agar and Jaden Whitting completed the rout with 17 dart legs in their 3-0 wins.

Agar's triumph came with the assistance of a 135 checkout that was registered as the highest finish of the match overall.

Matt Chegwin reached fourteen ton plusses and won his singles 3-1 thanks to legs of 14, 18, 18 to help his King Billy team to a 6-5 win over Bluebird C.

Chegwin also notched both of his team's maximums during the match whilst Andrew Cook was also prominent for the victors with twelve tons.

Glenn Austin's 84 checkout was only beaten by Dave Harbin's 90 kill in a single visit whilst Austin's teammate James Stoodley hit his team's only maximum.

With the scores tied at 5-5, Jamie Lofthouse proved too good in an accomplished 3-0 win that belied his junior years and experience on the oche.

George Beckett top scored with twelve tons as Cherry Tree B won 6-5 against Indian Inn in a tight battle between the two.

A 90 finish from Lee Wyatt, who reached ten tons overall, was beaten by a 96 from Kayleigh Adams during a 2-0 doubles win.

Harry Bull however beat both efforts with a fine 98 kill before Marc Webber won the game for the Pennycross outfit with a 3-1 deciding singles success.

Paul Gavican reached twelve tons as Victory B kept up the pressure on second placed Octagon A with a 704 win over Bluebird A.

Gavican was supported by Paddy Archibald's eleven tons whilst both Scott Cook and Paul Goundry hit the maximum mark with one a piece.

Cook's 15 darter in his 3-0 win was the best leg of the tie, which was closely followed by a leg in 17 from Gavican.

As the score line suggests, the Honicknowle team didn't have it all their own way as Jack McMinn reached ten tons with legs of 16 and 18 darts helping the Compton man to a 3-0 win.

McMinn also added a maximum to his evening's work with teammate Alan Masters adding a brace on the night.

The only noteworthy contribution from both team's during a Brewery Tap 8-3 win over Cherry Tree A saw Sean Taylor bag himself the only maximum of the match.
