Andrew Cook-ing For King Billy

Andrew Cook's fifteen ton haul in King Billy's 7-4 win over Indian Inn wasn't bettered by any player across all fixtures played in the Monday Premier League

Cook's mammoth total included two of the six 180s on the night as all three of Antony Hayman, Kevin Lofthouse and Scott Wapshott joined him with an effort each.

One of Cook's maximums came in a 3-1 singles success that was put away with legs of 15 and 17 darts whilst the man Cook defeated, Danny Bull, put his name amongst the King Billy 180 hitters.

Wapshott's night ended in him becoming the second player to add double figures of tons to the scoreboard as he reached ten.

Fred Goldsmith top scored for the reigning champions Tradesmans who continued their excellent start to the season with an 11-0 win over Colebrook.

Goldsmith was well supported by his teammates throughout with Mike O'Brien adding thirteen three figure scores and Lee Agar hitting eleven.

Agar's total was propped up by a brace of maximums whilst John Mann and Andy Bates hit the others in the match on their way to ten tons each.

Bates also recorded the highest finish of the match with a fine 117 checkout in a 3-1 singles success that was overshadowed by the individual performance of Agar.

Agar (29.47) ran through this opponent with legs of 14 and 17 darts to claim a 3-0 win in just twenty visits to the dartboard.

Despite ending on the wrong side of a heavy defeat, Nathan Langdon and Steve Towl showed their class throughout the evening with ten tons each.

Two of the teams most likely to make a challenge to Tradesmans' reign at the top of this particular league blew each other's hopes up as Victory B bettered Octagon A 6-5.

Thirteen tons were provided by a player from each side as Simon Washington and Paddy Archibald achieved that particular milestone.

Paul Palmer was also in good nick during the match for the defeated team as he heard a ton or more shouted no fewer than ten times.

Palmer was bested in the individual phase 3-2 by Anthony Pearn who checked the highest of four ton plus finishes with a 130 checkout.

The other major out shots came from Washington's 100, which was better twice more by an Archibald 101 kill and Alfie Ford's 106.

Pearn's singles win was claimed with the help of his team's only maximum, as well as legs of 13 and 15 darts that proved to be crucial in the outcome of the match.

Ford hit the second of his brace of maximums in a narrow 3-2 win to force the game into a one tie shootout with the scores locked at 5-5.

A closely fought contest in which nine of the eleven ties were one by one single leg came right down to the last leg of the match with Paul Goundry getting over the line 3-2 to give his team the win.

Goundry had to work mighty hard for that success as the man he beat, Jayden Dodd, ticked his personal ton total to ten overall in the defeat.

Glenn Halford and Glenn Austin provided the firepower for Bluebird C to claim a 9-2 success over Victory C with Halford's eleven tons bettering Austin's ten by a single maximum; the only one of it's kind in the match.

Mike Whatley was once again prominent for Cherry Tree A in their derby match with their B team as he hit eleven three figure scores in a 7-4 win for his team.

Teammate Matt Chegwin also showed his undoubted class with the only maximum from either team during the hotly contest matchup.

The battle of Bluebird A and B ended in a 6-5 win for the former in a last leg deciding 3-2 win for John Merrifield.

Matt Lang, who was the unlucky defeated party in that tie, had earlier claimed the game's only maximum whilst Jack McMinn checked the best leg of the match with a 15 darter in a 3-0 win for the A team to open the singles.

A 108 checkout from Steve Jones couldn't stop Octagon B from ending on the wrong side of a 7-4 defeat to Victory A.
