Ant The Hay-Man For 'Billy Boyz'

Antony Hayman (30.67) showed the form that made him one of the most revered county players in recent times during an 8-3 Steve Chapman 501 League win for King Billy over Fawn A.

Hayman added legs in 16, 18 and 15 darts during his 3-0 win that wasn't the only excellent showing in the match as teammate Andrew Cook also put on quite a display.

Cook (30.06) finished his 3-0 success in just one leg less than his teammate with 18, 16 and 16 darters doing for his opponent.

Cook and Hayman added two of the three ton plus checkouts in the match as Hayman's 120 narrowly bettered a 116 by his stablemate who used that to round off a ten ton personal tally.

Frankie Stout made it a trio of three figure outs with a 108 whilst there was four maximums in the tie as Hayman and Reece Day's solitary efforts added to Scott Cook's pair of 180s.

John Mann's (25.91) leg in 18 was the best personal effort of an 11-0 win for reigning champions Fawn B in an 11-0 success during a visit to Bar Mez.

Mann ended the evening on ten tons whilst teammate Lee Agar bettered that total with twelve and Andy Bates chalked two maximums up onto his ten ton haul.

The other 180 came from teammate Simon Washington whilst the man that Agar narrowly got the better of in the singles, Lee Rodmell, finished his night on eleven scores of a ton or more.

Whilst nobody could beat Mann's average, there was a number of legs that bettered his best with Fred Goldsmith's 17 darter in a 3-0 success bested twice more.

Washington powered home a 16 dart leg in a 3-2 success whilst Bates took the least number of darts honours with a leg in 15 in a 3-0 win of his own.

Mike Whatley put seventeen scores of a ton or more during Cherry Tree B's derby win of 9-2 over Cherry Tree A.

Whatley added a maximum to that mammoth total whilst teammate Scott Wapshott also contributed heavily to the result.

Wapshott found twelve ton plusses included a second 180 for his team with the main firepower for the defeated side coming from the direction of Nathan Langdon.

Langdon also added twelve tons with his stablemate Luke Beard checkout 115 in a single visit that narrowly bettered a 105 by Ant Pearn for the victors.

Phil Hoyle's leg in 15 darts proved to be crucial in a 3-2 win that was one of seven games that were decided by a single leg.

Whatley and Wapshott didn't stop at the scoring phase as the pair netted a 601 game in just 17 darts in a 2-1 doubles triumph.

Jordan Grimshaw might've found scores of a ton or more fourteen times, but that wasn't enough to arrest Tradesmans' slide to an 8-3 defeat at the hands of Victory A.

Grimshaw's teammate Lewis Byrne also showed his class with ten tons whilst Kelvin Rowe heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than eleven times for the victors.

Rowe was supported well by teammates Scott Lawrey and Tony Tasker who both finished on ten tons with the pair contributing to the six 180s added to the scoreboard.

Lawrey, Tasker, Quinton Taylor and Paul Goundry all replied to return fire by Grimshaw and his stablemate Nick Bromley to make up that sextet.

Lawrey was also clinical at the business end of a leg with a 16 darter his best during a 3-0 singles win whilst the high checkout honours went to Goundry with a 115.

Kieran Harris was in fine fettle for Victory Hammers as he added twelve tons to the scoreboard in an 8-3 home defeat at the hands of St Levans.

The visitors' cause was helped by the scoring prowess of Tex Pearce who added a maximum to his ten ton personal tally.

That was one of three 180s added to the scoresheet by the Keyham outfit with Harry MacGregor and Anna Pearce both putting on three treble visits.

Mrs Pearce also claimed the highest checkout honours with a fine 114 kill whilst Mr Pearce showed his finishing was equally as good as his scoring with 16 and 18 darters in a 3-0 win.

Alan Masters top scored with eleven tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 loss as Octagon downed Masters Bluebird.

Jack McMinn was also in good scoring form for the defeated side as he left the venue with a ten ton haul to his name.

Other highlights included two ton plus checkouts to go alongside Ralph Lancaster's 17 dart leg in a 3-1 win over Keith Lemon who nailed one of those aforementioned finishes with a 103.

The other came from the arm of Lancaster's teammate Robbie Bisgrove who checked 114 in a single visit for the best of the thirty-one finishes in the contest.

Lee Hellings ten ton haul included two of the four maximums in a 9-2 win for Cherry Tree C on the road in their visit to Duchy.

Hellings added legs in 18 and 11 darts during his 3-0 win whilst Nick Miller and James Hughes both added a solitary effort each to Hellings 180 tally.

Neal Walters top scored with eleven tons but couldn't arrest Victory Fireballs slide to an 8-3 defeat against Kings Arms.

Pete Down's two moments of magic were the best bits for the victors as he put up a maximum to go alongside a 120 checkout that claimed the joined highest kill of the week.

After going 5-3 down, Indian Inn recovered to a 6-5 win at Ivybridge CC thanks to a run that included three 18 dart legs from the Stoke village side's two star players.

Mark Hatherley fired one in his 3-0 win to the leave score tied at 5-5 before Ian Heggie ran out a 3-0 winner thanks to a brace of legs in six completed visits to give his team the spoils.

Heggie also added the highest checkout of the evening to his night's work at the oche with a 95 single visit combination out shot doing the damage in that particular stat.

Chris Harper and Martin Pearson teamed in a 601 leg that was put to bed in 23 darts during an 8-3 win for Cherry Tree D over Beacon Park.

Jason Smout's 80 and a 96 for Tom Willson were the best checkouts of the contest and gave some solace to the defeated team.
