Austin Powers Bluebird To Success

Glenn Austin top scored with fourteen ton plusses, including a 108 checkout, during Bluebird C's 7-4 Monday Premier League win over Octagon B which also saw Glenn Halford adding ten tons for his team.

Leaders Tradesmans A dominated the top of the table clash with local rivals Octagon A in a match that saw John Mann reach fourteen three figure scores.

That total was ticked over by a game high finish of 108 during a 3-1 singles win that included a brace of 18 darters; two legs that contributed to a number of high class legs overall.

After Lewis Dare and Lee Hellings won Octagon's solitary point of the team phase of play with 601 legs in 17 and 21, their teammate Simon Washington won 3-0 with the help of a 15 darter.

Dare (29.47) was the other Octagon winner as part of his twelve ton haul helped him to a 3-0 triumph that contained a pair of legs in 16.

Tradesmans' Billy Evans added one of five maximums between the two sides during a 3-0 singles win that also saw the Devon man check a 15 dart leg.

The game's other 180s came from Hellings and Washington whilst Bates managed two efforts; one of which coming in a defeat to Washington.

Jack McMinn top scored with thirteen tons but couldn't prevent a 7-4 defeat being inflicted upon Bluebird A in their away trip to Victory A.

McMinn added an 18 darter in his 3-1 success over Tony Tasker whilst the only maximum scored during the contest came from the hand of Shaune Kittle.

Tasker was one of a number of prominent players for the victorious team with twelve tons whilst a 17 darter came in his singles loss to McMinn.

Chris Beale added a 17 dart leg of his own in a 3-0 win whilst a crucial leg in just 12 darts was finished by Richard Wheatley in one visit from 161 during his 3-2 win.

A thirteen ton haul from Andrew Cook wasn't enough to stop his King Billy team from falling to a 7-4 defeat to Cherry Tree B.

That win owed much to the form of George Beckett who provided twelve tons, a high finish of 80, and a 17 dart leg in his 3-0 singles success.

Ten tons from both Scott Cook and Paddy Archibald helped Victory B to a comfortable 9-2 win away at Union Inn.

Cook added two maximums to that tally whilst teammate Anthony Pearn also bagged himself one and the highest checkout of the contest went to Paul Gavican's 130.

Cook (30.67) was also prominent in the singles phase with legs of 16, 18 and 15 darts getting him over the line for a 3-0 win.

Other brilliant legs came from Archibald who won 3-1 with a pair of 18 darters and Gavican who won 3-0 with the assistance of legs in 15 and 17 darts.

Despite ending the wrong side of a heavy defeat, Dave Hollow was once again prominent for the Plympton side with ten tons for his evening's work.

Danny Bull's two 18 darters were one of the main highlights of a 9-2 win for Indian Inn over Cherry Tree A with Bull offering up one of three maximums for his team.

The others went to Alec Turner and Eddie Bull whilst Danny Bull's 118 checkout was beaten by a 126 from teammate Lee Wyatt.
