Billy Boyz Net Two 'Big Fish' In Same Match!

King Billy A teammates Andy Bates and Antony Hayman both ploughed home the highest possible finish their team's 8-3 win over Fawn B in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Bates was the first competitor to achieve the feat in his 3-0 singles before Hayman matched the checkout in his 3-0 singles win.

Hayman (30.67) also hit one of six maximums on his way to eleven tons in the contest and also won individual game in 15,16,18 darts.

Not to be outshone, John Mann hit two maximums of his own which formed part of a sixteen ton haul that included a 101 checkout.

Mann won a leg in 11 darts and followed this with another in 15 in his 3-1 win over Mike O'Brien who added a 16 darter and a maximum to thirteen other ton plusses in vain.

Mann also teamed up with Scott Hutchinson to win a 601 leg in a remarkable 16 darts for a three dart average off almost 113 per visit whilst their stablemate Alec Turner added a fourth maximum for the Devonport team.

Fred Goldsmith scored the sixth and final maximum of the tie whilst Lee Agar's 16 dart leg and excellent 149 finish paled into insignificance considering the exploits of Bates and Hayman.

Octagon, who are one of three teams looking to finish runner-up to King Billy A, dropped four points at the hands of Victory B in a 7-4 win for the Stonehouse side.

Despite finishing on the losing team, Danny Allen was the highest scoring player with fifteen three figure scores that included two of the six maximums scored in the game.

Octagon's Alfie Ford also chalked up two maximums whilst the others were scored by teammate Ralph Lancaster and Victory's Ryan Harris.

Ford was Octagon's joint highest scorer with Jayden Dodd as both men added eleven tons to the scoreboard whilst teammate Lewis Dare also added double figures himself.

The highest finish and least number of darts honours both went to Tony Conn who checked a 15 darter and a three figure combo of 142 whilst Lancaster also finish in one visit from 100.

Kings Arms marksman Reg Matthews' 145 checkout and maximum wasn't enough to curtail the Victory A who secured all but one of the eleven points on offer.

Scott Lawrey fired a maximum of his own for the successful visitors whilst stablemates Darren Collis and Tony Tasker both secured ten ton hauls.

The Oreston side may feel a little aggrieved at the result having seen five of the eleven ties going to last leg deciders.

Mark Sargeant ploughed home two maximums in his Fawn A team's 9-2 defeat to the King Billy B as Mark Shears also fired a brace for the victorious home team.

Sargeant also added a 15 dart leg, the lowest of the tie, in his 3-2 singles win whilst the man he defeated, Paul Gavican, finished from 107 in three in one of the legs he won in 18 darts.

Sargeant bagged as many as fifteen three figure scores whilst Gavican notched eleven tons himself on the night, a feat matched by teammate Scott Wapshott.

Billy Evans took the game's maximum tally to five whilst there was a 17 dart leg for Mark Shears in his 3-0 success.

Ian Heggie chalked up as many as twelve ton plusses, as well as an 18 darter, in his Indian team's 9-2 loss to the St Levans with Matt Pearce and Anna Johnson combining for a 19 dart 601 leg in the doubles.

Torpoint Cons 9-2 win over Cherry Tree was aided by Mike Bulmer and Tony Reid's 105 checkout and maximum contributions respectively.
