Daley Express Checkout Sets New HSO Mark

Steve Daley set a new mark for the Louis Yates Plymouth & District Darts League highest checkout of the season so far with a magnificent 156 in Octagon's 9-4 win over Legends Lounge.

Daley's checkout contributed to a fine team game by his Stonehouse outfit that heard 'game shot' called after just 39 darts thrown over the 1001 distance to give the sextet a single dart average of 25.67.

That Daley effort was one of three fine checkouts in the game as Legends Lounge won two of the quartet of points they plundered with 73 and 72 kills by Kev Stout and Sean Taylor respectively.

Simon Washington was a ten ton hitter for title challengers Kings Tamerton in their 10-3 success during their visit to Grenville.

Matt Legge was fit and firing for the defeated team with ten tons of his own whilst Washington joined teammates Paul Sanders and Keith Blight in adding 180 scores.

Jonathan Easterbrook's (28.60) 35 dart 1001 leg in King Billy's 11-2 defeat of Cherry Tree was the shortest leg of the week across all seven matches played.

An admirable 85 single visit kill by Eaterbrook's teammate Kieran Burns joined no fewer than three maximums plundered between the two sides as the other main highlights.

The defeated Pennycross outfit enjoyed as many maximums as they did successful legs in the match as Dan Nixon and Jason Pashby joined Easterbrook in hitting three treble visits.

Jordan Grimshaw teamed with Matt Abbott (26.34) to put away 1001 points in just 38 darts for one of the points Victory Inn won during an 11-2 success over Weston Mill Oak Villa.

During that aforementioned leg, Grimshaw added the only maximum of the contest for the Honicknowle team who have built a twelve point buffer atop of the standings.

A Rob May (25.03) 40 darter in his singles and a 90 checkout by David Young couldn't stop Tradesmans B from succumbing to a 7-6 defeat against Pennycross, for whom Lee Pare nailed a maximum.

Reigning champions Tradesmans A were roundly beaten 9-4 by Falstaff with a 120 checkout by Ryan Horn and a maximum from teammate Dave Jarvis the very best provided by the victorious home side.

The visitors, who were slightly weakened by absentees in their ranks, did put a 180 onto the scoreboard of their own with Andrew Nation firing.
