Evans Last Leg 170 Downs Brazier

A truly remarkable last leg 170 checkout from Billy Evans in the Legends Lounge Premier League 1 gave him the narrowest of 7-6 victories over fellow title contender Dan Brazier.

Four of the six legs won by Brazier were found with ton plus finishes as the Devon man put away 108, 116, 112 and 120 three figure kills.

That quartet was bettered in the matchup twice by Brazier's county teammate as Evans found a 145 and the magical 'big fish' to claim a remarkable victory with the scores tied at 6-6.

Evans had earlier in the night defeated Matt Kingdom 7-1 with the help of another three figure checkout as a 112 was put away during the win.

Brazier's first match ended as a close 7-5 win over Scott Wapshott who nailed a maximum in the defeat before Wapshott inflicted a second loss of the season on leader Neil White.

White managed to fire a maximum in the loss by the odd leg in thirteen to the Cornwall county man, who sits nine off the top in seventh in what is turning out to be a fascinating title race.

James Ewing's 160 kill was the highest recorded in both divisions of the league; an effort that sat alongside a solitary maximum in a 7-1 win over Kelly Burkitt.

A 7-1 win for Maria O'Brien over Matt Kingdom leaves the Cornwall county player just three of the top in fourth place, with the top five covered by just five points.

Chris Edgcumbe picked up a fine 7-1 win over Kelly Burkitt whilst Danny Bull bunched up to Tom James in eleventh and twelfth place after a 7-5 success over his counterpart.

Five maximums from Jason Pinkerton were not enough to arrest his slide to a 7-6 defeat against Danny Perryman in Premier League 2.

Perryman was Lee Hellings seventh victim from seven starts as the top player at week eight of the fifteen week league stage claimed a 7-4 success.

Pinkerton sits behind Hellings by a solitary point having played a game more, but will rue a missed opportunity to climb to the top after another defeat.

Scott Hutchinson bested Pinkerton by a 7-5 score line as both players adding to the overall 180 total with one three treble visit each.

Liam Taylor put one maximum and one leg onto the scoreboard in a 7-1 defeat to Paul Gavican and Sarah Brown rounded out the evening's action with a solid 7-3 win over Nick Cordrey.
