Handy Andy Cooks Bluebird A
Andrew Cook reached fourteen ton plusses as his King Billy team chalked up their first win of the new Monday Premier League season with a 9-2 victory over Bluebird A.
Cook (30.06) resoundingly won his individual game 3-0 thanks to legs of 15, 17 and 18 darts and was ably supported by Scott Wapshott who secured ten tons and an 18 darter in his 3-2 success.
Paddy Archibald continued the form that's put him on the brink of securing enough points to earn a place in the Cornwall squad next season with thirteen tons in a 7-4 win for the B over the A in the Victory derby.
This entertaining encounter saw five 180s with Archibald adding to efforts by teammates Paul Goundry and Scott Cook.
Cook himself reached twelve tons whilst Goundry secured the lowest number of darts in the contest with a fine 15 darter in a 3-0 singles win.
Richard Wheatley was the best of the A team's players with ten tons and joined teammate Tony Conn in hitting a maximum for his team.
Simon Washington top scored for joint leaders Octagon A with thirteen three figure scores as the Stonehouse team won 9-2 against Brewery Tap.
Washington's teammate Paul Palmer scored twelve tons whilst Lee Hellings and Jayden Dodd managed eleven and ten respectively.
Dodd added a brace of 180s to Washington's sole effort whilst Dave Ryde's 106 checkout being the Tap's only noteworthy contribution to the contest.
Jaden Whitting and Shaun Dring shared twenty-four ton plusses evenly with twelve each in Tradesmans 10-1 win over Cherry Tree A.
Fred Goldsmith and John Mann both added ten tons each in a brilliant team performance that also saw Mann and teammate Luke Johnson hit 180s.
Mann (31.98) won his individual game 3-0 thanks to legs of 18, 14 and 15 darts whilst there was also a 15 darter for Mike O'Brien who also checked 109 in a single visit.
Glenn Halford managed the highest checkout of the week across all fixtures with a 127 three dart combination outshot in Bluebird C's 6-5 defeat to Cherry Tree B.
That effort was one of eleven tons for Halford and despite also hitting a 13 darter, Halford would succumb to an inspired George Beckett 3-2 who added a 100 checkout of his own.
Highlights from Indian's 9-2 win over Octagon B came from three generations of Bulls with Danny Bull's 114 checkout usurped by Eddie's 119.
Harry Bull threw a pair of maximums and added a 17 dart leg that was only beaten in the contest by Lee Wyatt's 13 darter in his 3-2 singles win.
Despite the result, Bill Rennie and Steve Daley performed admirably with the former hitting his team's only maximum and the latter notching a leg in 18 in his loss to Wyatt.
Union Inn made it two wins from three starts in an 8-3 success over Bluebird B with both Nick Furneaux and Dave Reed both hitting ton plus finishes.
Furneaux 105 was only beaten by an inspired 110 from Reed with Vince Scallan also checking 96 in one visit for the defeated team.
Furneaux also helped himself to a fine 18 dart leg in his 3-1 individual triumph on a good night for him personally, and for the Plympton based team.
