Handy Andy's Top Out Shot

Andy Bates netted himself a top of the shop 170 checkout in the Monday Premier League when turning out for runaway leaders Tradesmans in an 11-0 success.

That moment of magic was joined by one of five 180s in the match as teammate John Mann accompanied Bates in achieving the feat.

Young Cornwall star Jaden Whitting stole the show from some of his more senior teammates with fourteen three figure scores that included a trio of maximums.

Mike O'Brien was also brilliant in the scoring phase with a twelve ton plus haul that included a 100 checkout which had to settle for third best on the night.

That was due to Harry Bull's 111 three dart combination for the defeated team in a 3-1 loss to an inspired Whitting.

Whitting had earlier in the match teamed with O'Brien to provide the best leg of the match; a 16 dart 601 in a 2-0 doubles win.

Over the 501 distances Mann won a leg in 17 in a 3-0 win whilst Lee Wyatt also achieved the same feat in a 3-2 defeat to O'Brien.

Jack McMinn continues to shine for Bluebird A with a fifteen ton haul accenting a 7-4 success over Cherry Tree B.

McMinn rounded off that remarkable total with a brilliant 112 checkout; that effort coupled with legs of 14 and 18 darts in a 3-0 individual win showing his finishing prowess.

Tony Tasker was very much at the races whilst showing his very best form with fourteen three figure scores in a 9-2 derby success for Victory A over their Victory C neighbours.

Tasker (31.31) provided one of two 180s in the match during a 3-0 win that was claimed in 16, 17 and 15 darts; a truly marvellous display.

Quinton Taylor nailed the other maximum in a 3-1 success that saw him also put one of the trio of legs away in just 18 darts.

Scott Lawrey was also prominent for the victorious Victory team as he added a 120 checkout in a 3-0 success that saw another 18 darter.

Dale Halford put fourteen three figure scores up for Bluebird B but still found himself on the wrong side of a 6-5 defeat that was decided on the very last possible leg by Octagon B.

Teammate Jamie Roberts checked a leg in 14 darts in a 3-2, and claimed one of his team's two maximums in the match as teammate Wayne Oddie hit the other.

Steve Daley adding one 180 to go with his 74 checkout during a spell that saw the Stonehouse side build a commanding 5-3 lead.

However, last leg deciding wins for both Halford and Roberts setup a battle between Dave Wyatt and Damian Chalmers at 5-5; the former winning the close fought contest 3-2 to give his team the spoils.

Andrew Cook reached as many as thirteen ton plusses in an 8-3 win for King Billy over Cherry Tree A with Cook also providing a game high checkout of 82, and one of three 180s in the match.

Antony Hayman added his team's other three treble visit whilst Paul Freeman also achieved the maxinmum feat in a 3-0 defeat to Cook (25.91) who checked a leg in 18 during that win.

Hayman bested Mike Whatley by the same score line with the help of legs in 14 and 17; Whatley still managing to reach the magic ten ton mark in the defeat.

Geoff Heath was the third man to get to ten tons for the victorious Devonport side on a more than successful night.

Glenn Austin's thirteen tons couldn't arrest Bluebird C's slide to a 7-4 defeat at home to Octagon A who had three prominent protagonists in the match.

The trio of Lee Hellings, Jayden Dodd and Paul Palmer all made it to ten tons respectively with Hellings joining Dave Pethick in hitting the game's only maximums.

Hellings' 3-1 success individually was brought about by legs in 14 and 17 darts with teammate Alfie Ford joining him in the 17 dart club during his 3-0 triumph.

A third 17 darter of the night was thrown by Glenn Halford who also checked 96 in a single visit to the board during a 3-0 win.

Scott Cook's twelve tons led Victory B to an 8-3 success over Colebrook whilst Cook was well supported by Paul Goundry who put ten three figure scores onto the scoreboard.

Cook (27.32) won his individual game 3-0 with the help of a 17 darter; a feat repeated by Goundry in a 3-1 success that also contained a leg in 18 to boot.
