Hayman Ench-Ants Visitors With Three Maxis

Antony Hayman produced his explosive best with as many as three maximums in King Billy's 9-2 Plymouth City Super League triumph over Kings Arms B.



Those efforts rounded off a thirteen ton haul that was matched by Dave Johns for the hosts from Oreston, who put on a good display despite ending on the wrong side of a heavy defeat.


Johns teammate Rob Oak threw his team's only maximum of the game whilst the visitors also had Paddy Archibald in something like his best form with a 180 on his way to eleven tons.



Archibald's teammate Paul Goundry also showed glimpses of magic with a 16 darter in his 3-1 success and a 74 checkout, which was the highest of the match.


An impressive 11-0 win for Victory A over Bluebird A sees them narrow the gap in the battle for second spot to just two points in a match that saw Mark Shears put three maximums onto the scoreboard.



Scott Cook added a fourth for his team, which accented a twelve ton haul personally whilst there was a number of impressive displays in the singles phase of play.


Cook's 3-1 success was help along by a 16 darter whilst teammate Tom James won by a 3-0 score line thanks to a leg of his own in 16.



Danny Allen also checked one leg in a 3-0 win in just 14 darts; a feat that Shears (28.90) matched whilst also adding an 18 darter to his 3-0 success over the usually impressive Glenn Halford.


Paul Gavican (26.37) was also as impressive with a brace of 18 dart legs helping him to a fourth 3-0 win for the Honicknowle team.



Gavican was also impressive in the scoring stakes as he helped himself to a fine eleven ton haul that aided his team's overall cause.


Dave Roberts top scored with twelve tons in an 8-3 win for Fawn A over Victoria whilst teammate Simon Stevenson chalked up eleven.



Stevenson checked the game's highest checkout with a 110 three dart combination out shot whilst his 180 was joined by one from Steve Williams for the defeated visitors.


Saltram's visit to St Levans ended in a 7-4 success that was led by the brilliance of Warren Gordon who chalked up eleven ton plusses.



Gordon's total was rounded off by a maximum and a 100 finish during a 3-0 win that was won with legs of 14 and 17 darts on a good night personally and for the team.


Young prodigy Frankie Stout continued a spate of fantastic form as he add another 180 for his team as well as an 18 darter in a 3-0 success.



Steve Mills (23.48) was the undoubted standout performer for Cherry Tree in their 11-0 success over Duchy B with his 180 helping him to an impressive 3-0 singles win.


There was as many as five 180s between Victory B and Fawn B in a 7-4 win for the former with Mike Bassett netting a brace despite being on the wrong side of that defeat.



The man he narrowly defeated in the singles, Lee Hunter, was in good form with a 180 and a 71 checkout, which earned the best of the matchup.


Devon teammates Mark Turner and Lewis Dare added the other maximums with Dare's effort topping up his eleven ton haul across the whole night.



Callum Strickson's 100 checkout was the only moment of magic in the game between Bluebird B and Victory C that came down to the last tie of the contest; Dale Halford winning out 3-0 to give his team the win.


Three men from the runaway leaders, Octagon, reached the ten ton mark in their 11-0 success over Kings Arms A with Alfie Ford doing so thanks to a pair of maximums.



Neil White and Lee Hellings joined Ford in matching that feat whilst John Mann also added a brace of maximums.


There was a number of impressive legs during match; none more so than Hellings and Ford's (31.28) 32 darter in a doubles match over the 1001 distance.



Hellings then followed this with an 18 darter in his 3-0 singles win whilst Ford won by the same score in his individual match with the help of a leg in 17.


White matched Ford's leg, which turned out to be crucial in a 3-2 win whilst the best was saved until last as Mann (24.85) won his game 3-1 with one leg coming in 18.



A brilliantly fought battled between Steampacket and Raffles went right down to the last leg of the match with the Devonport visitors coming out on top 6-5.


George Beckett and Neal Hotchkiss did the damage for the victors with ten tons each with Beckett's first effort of evening coming in the form of a maximum.



The second maximum between the two teams came from Marc Webber in the second game of the evening that helped towards a 3-0 lead.


During a run of three straight legs for the Mutley team, James Ewing threw his team's first 180 of the match, one of ten three figure scores for him personally, to leave the game nicely poised with five to play.



A to-and-fro affair started with the next two singles being shared including a 3-1 win for Beckett over Ewing whose leg came in just 16 darts.


Beckett's win put the Steampacket on the brink of success before an Alec Turner 180 helped get the exciting match to a 5-5 score line and a well deserved conclusion.



In the final match of the night, Eddie Bull threw the fifth and final three treble visit of the game but succumbed to Webber by the odd leg in five.


The evergreen Ralph Lancaster took the league's overall high checkout honours with a 120 kill that contributed to an 11-0 win over Duchy A.



Roger Bailey and Paul Tackle also added maximums for the Devonport team who dropped just four legs in the demolition job.


Wayne Town and Dan Jewell produced impressive moments at the right time in a 6-5 win for Clifton over Hyde Park.



Town added a leg in 18 during a 3-0 individual success whilst his maximum was joined by a checkout of 80 from Jewell.
