John The Mann In Clash Of Top Two

John Mann's fifteen ton plus haul helped Tradesmans keep their 100% record in the Monday Premier League as the reigning champions won a last leg shootout against second placed Octagon A.

The cherry on the top of Mann's total was three maximums throughout the match with teammate Jaden Whitting adding two more throughout the game to take him to ten three figure scores personally.

Mike O'Brien added a sixth 180 for the Stonehouse team to round off his thirteen tons whilst the local rivals and closest adversaries had Jayden Dodd throwing one on his way to eleven ton plusses personally.

Another thirteen ton hitter for the night was Dodd's teammate Lee Hellings whilst Alfie Ford helped himself to ten tons.

Mann (30.69) was also most clinical at the business end of legs with a 118 checkout joining legs of 12, 13 and 15 darts in a 3-1 win.

Dodd's 14 darter proved crucial in a 3-2 win whilst O'Brien checked legs in 17 and 14 darts in a 3-1 win that made it 5-5 with one to play.

Lee Agar eventually got the better of Paul Palmer 3-2 to complete the win that looked unlikely when Agar's side trailed 4-2 with five to play.

Harry Bull lit up Indian Inn's 6-5 win over Cherry Tree with fourteen tons, whilst Dave Lee fired back ten in a match where the lead changed hands three times before Lee Wyatt's 3-0 success at 5-5.

Thirteen tons from Matt Chegwin wasn't enough to halt Cherry Tree A's slide to a 7-4 defeat at the hands of Bluebird B.

That win owed much to the form of Dale Halford who threw twelve ton plusses whilst his teammate Jamie Roberts put the only maximum onto the scoreboard.

Twelve tons for Scott Cook helped his Victory B team defeat Bluebird C by an 8-3 score line in a match that saw Cook nail one of six maximums between the teams in a 3-1 individual win that also contained a 14 darter.

Teammate Paul Goundry threw one more for his team during a 3-0 success that was won with legs of 15 and 18 darts whilst Lee Roberts hit the first for the Compton side.

Glenn Halford (28.90) plundered the final three in just three legs as he littered his 3-0 win with those efforts, legs of 15 and 16 darts and a checkout of 112 that was only bettered by Roberts' 117 in his 3-1 triumph.

Bluebird A fell to a 7-4 defeat to Victory A, but not before Jack McMinn put eleven ton plusses onto the scoreboard.

One of those was a maximum with the other two of the night provided by teammate Alan Masters who reached ten tons himself.

The victors from Honicknowle had both Quinton Taylor and Tony Tasker in good form as the pair also managed to hit the ten ton mark.

Taylor's 3-2 win was accented by legs of 16 and 17 darts whilst McMinn claimed a leg of 17 darts in a 3-0 success and Tasker won 3-1 with the help of a leg in 18.

Despite being defeated 6-5 by the Colebrook Inn, King Billy provided most of the highlights in this particular fixture.

Antony Hayman top scored with eleven ton plusses; one of which was maximum with two more being added by his teammates Dave Harbin and Scott Wapshott.

Wapshott's night also contained a 15 darter and a game week high checkout of 120 that bettered a 101 earlier in the match by Dan Giles for the victors.

The only noteworthy contribution from both sides during Octagon B's 6-5 win over Victory C was a Chris Beale 180 for the defeated team.
